by i_am_patchHi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield,...

by abajorHaving this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.
I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.
The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.
The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...04-27-2024, 01:37 PM -

by Francisco.sHi, have a HP workstation Z2 Mini 4G for repair with CPU vcore missing.
The resistance at the output of CPU vcore coils, is less than one ohm so I think CPU could be damaged, but no mosfet are damaged.
It mounts an i7 8th gen, and have only i5 7th gen for test, but I think it is not compatible.
Without CPU in the socket there is no short, but there is no vcore voltag, and it emits a beep like no detecting ram.
The controller chip for cpu vcore is a MP2949A, and has no enable voltage at pin 37.
I wonder which circuit generates this enable...04-22-2024, 12:35 PM -
I downloaded a BIOS file from Lenovo and once I extracted the actual BIOS from the executable, it is 16MB in size, but my IC(Winbond 25Q80DV) is only 8MB in capacity. I have read you can trim the BIOS file with a hex editor but I can't find any instructions on specifically what you will remove.

by Carm99Hi
I have a Citronic AC-1USB.
When I run a turntable into it and then try to record it. The volume is too loud and distorting. In the red. Mainly 12β Singles. I havenβt tried a CD into it yet. Iβm wondering if there is any way to bring the volume down inside the unit itself. Change a part or two. Put a small pot somewhere as there are no adjustments at all in there. Iβm looking for the schematic but not found one yet.
Heres the circuit board inside.
Cheers

I have an HP 14-dq0055dx laptop here that came in for boot looping. It was previously taken to another shop and they tried flashing a BIOS firmware to the chip, so I cannot take an original dump. For a second or two, a message will come up on the screen that says:
This loop will go on for as long as you like. I let it run for about 12 hours and came in the following morning and it's still looping.

by waterchillHey folks, I have this iPad Pro 12,9" 4Gen A2232 here with no charging issue. The main fault was a crossed pins / faulty USB charging port due a bad cable.
So I started to replace this parts:
- replaced usb-c port -> no result
- replaced battery -> no result
- replaced usb-c chip CD3217B12A -> no result
- replaced 343S00326 -> no result
- replaced 343S00327 -> no result
- replaced 343S00328 -> no result
I have no more ideas for this issue. There is no short on the whole board, and the iPad is working fine...Today, 05:37 AM
