iPad Air 5 only charging on Laptop
Hi, I have an iPad Air 5 here, this thing only charging on a macbook or laptop. It does not charge on any wall charger or other things. Tried different cables with no result. When plug in into laptop sometimes it does not start charging and I have to turn the plug and the it is starting. The USB port looks ok with usb-c tester, battery also ok. I have no idea where to start searching. Any suggestions? Thanks -

What part is this coil from a MacBook A2681 ?
Hi everyone
I'm struggling to point out what part is this? It is a coil, but the parameters say: 10OHM - 50% - 1A - 0.05Ohm
So it is a coil with 0201 dimensions, 1A max current, 0.05ohm resistance but what is 10ohm? For a coil we need specs like 1uH or so.
IAny ideas? It is from a MacBook A2681

Good day,
so I'm trying to upgrade the ram of this board. Because there is a 4GB and 8GB version of this board, I have order 2 more chips and soldered to the board. But still 4GB are only recognized. I believe that there is like other boards a jumper or a resistance that have to be moved to other place or so. Any suggestions? Not found any schematics on this board.

I know exactly what you mean. I have tried 2 different usb connectors also tried not to install this in the iPad case because it is easier to connect it. But all this without result and the usb-c checker would not give me a good measurement. I can alsomeasure on the board some voltages with connected usb cable and disconnected battery.

Same result, 0A current draw
I'm using a power supply Aixun PS3208 and I know that between 0 and 5mA it will show 0mA. So I cannot say exactly. Can you point me a better way to measure this exactly?
Same as the USB-C checker. The USB-C checker give same result +/- 0,01V as same functional iPad on each pin

Yes I have a "Mechanic" USB-C and lightning Tail insertion tester. After changing the usb dock it said some faults. After changing the usb chip CD3217B12A it says everything is ok. All values are normal and exactly same as an other iPad with usb-c. The current drwa if you plug in an USB-C cable from USB-C charger is 0,000A it only switches to 5V. From USB-A charger also 0,000A. I have also a breakout board, but all values are ok.Leave a comment:

Apple iPad Pro 12,9" 4Gen no charging, but working fine
Hey folks, I have this iPad Pro 12,9" 4Gen A2232 here with no charging issue. The main fault was a crossed pins / faulty USB charging port due a bad cable.
So I started to replace this parts:
- replaced usb-c port -> no result
- replaced battery -> no result
- replaced usb-c chip CD3217B12A -> no result
- replaced 343S00326 -> no result
- replaced 343S00327 -> no result
- replaced 343S00328 -> no result
I have no more ideas for this issue. There is no short on the whole board, and the iPad is working fine... -
I changed the chip without any result. But I found this. The 0,5A current goes to U0702. And here is the strange thing. On the C1819 is a short. You can measure it, but when voltage inject short is gone. Found out that every time I plug in the charger there is a short and after a time the short is gone. So I found out that the short is produced by Q7772. Unsoldered Q7772 short is gone and current draw and charging is much better but when plug in charger iPad freeze and goes black. Return to life unplug and plug in battery. Found that this mosfet can be found on iPhone X mainboard, actually not...Leave a comment:

Hi, I'm wondering what part is this? Cannot find any schemaits or part number. The "+" can mean that this is a MAX chip I know it from Nintendo switch. It is located directly to the tristar chip.... -

Today I tried new battery and the iPad is booting into system. Can use it like normal. But in the moment I plug in the charger iPad is freezing and goes black. Unconnect and connect battery again same game. The battery is charging for some seconds with about 30W but after some seconds it goes to 0,5A and stuck. I reflowed the PMIC without result. So the only thing I can do here is change the PMIC. Other ideas? Thank youLeave a comment:

Sorry but I got this idea occasionally. Normally an iPad starts up for seconds without battery. It seems that an M1 iPad cannot do tzhis. I thought battery is ok because it have over 3,6v. I will try now with new batteryLeave a comment:

Can you point me where I can find the # of the logic board? Actually cannot find it. This iPad died over night for some reason with plugged in charger. With battery connected, current goes immediately to 0,5A. With no battery connected it goes to 0,1A. Actually I have connected an iPad boot cable and the iPad is booting into system. So it looks like the battery is faulty?Leave a comment:

Thank you. Contacts are very well the iPad is like new. Just measured the battery voltage, it's at 3,66V. I charged the iPad the whole night but it hasn't charged the battery. I don't know if this Generation iPad can show the Apple Logo for short time without battery connected like the older models? I found schematics for this iPad but missing boardfile. good day, I have same iPad which is dead. Current draw is 0,5A@5V when battery is connected and 0,1A without battery. Didn't found a short, I can measure 3,7V and 5V around the PMIC. With IR cam the PMIC gets slightly hot about 30°C with battery connected. Checked a lot of caps, no short. What do you think is it worth to change the PMIC or other ideas? ThanksLeave a comment:

iPad 7 A2197 dead
So I have here this board which is dead. Current without battery is about 25mA with battery 470mA. I checked all voltages, missing this one:
PPVDD_GPU
PPVDD_GPU_SRAM
PP1V8_TOUCH_EXT_SW
PP3V0_ALS
PP3V3_ACC
PP1V25_REAR_CAM
I don't know if these voltages are coming up, when iPad is booting. I have changed the PMIC without any result.
The PPVDD_GPU line have 8,2 ohms and in diode mode it is short. I have injected 0,8v in this line, only the A10 chip is getting slightly warm.
Any ideas?
