Battery pack voltage is 15.49v
PLB2 to ground is 10M with red probe on ground, but 25M with black probe to ground. I didn't think meters measured resistance mode with polarity.
PQB5: S/D = 11M, S/G = 104k, G/D = 5.9M
Voltage on PLB2 with power adapter and battery pack connected is 15.49v, the exact voltage of the battery back when disconnected....

Lenovo LOQ 15APH8 - no post, power button blinks steadily
Model: Lenovo LOQ 15APH8
Serial: MP2LMAV
Board: ILG50 LA-M811P Rev 1A
This device came in for no POST/boot. It is drawing 2a when connected to the charger. Pressing the power button, I get keyboard backlight, then the power button blinks continuously, 1 second on , 1 second off. I flashed a brand new(unmodified) BIOS from Lenovo's website but that did not do anything. I was told by someone here, that despite missing the DMI blocks, if this were a BIOS issue, it should still boot after replacing the BIOS. There is only .2 ohms resistance on the GPU coils. I have been...Last edited by survivalbloke; 07-24-2025, 12:54 PM. -

Thank you for that! I have a reader and have flashed chips before(I'm a repair shop), but I never thought to take 3 copies of the BIOS backup - that's excellent advice!
The machine will not post, so I Was in an attempt to copy the serial number info from the original BIOS to the new one. I'll report back, and thank you for that link!...Leave a comment:

Unable to extract Lenovo BIOS file from installer
I'm working on a Lenovo LOQ 15APH8, Serial# MP2L9MAV. I want to flash a new BIOS onto it, but I'm also trying to learn this process for my own enrichment and professional development.
I was watching some tutorials, copying the serial info blocks from the old bios to a new bios. Before that though, they use innoextract on the Lenovo .exe. I downloaded Innoextract v1.9 but it tells me my .exe is not a supported inno setup installer(see screenshot). So if I unpack this using 7zip, I do get a .ROM file, but according to my tutorials, I'm looking for a .FD file.

MS Surface Book 3 - Keyboard works only in UEFI/Linux
This is a very weird issue which I'm having trouble finding a common thread.
The keyboard is registering keypresses in either the UEFI, or a live Linux USB environment - I used Ubuntu for testing. The keyboard backlight is lit.
The keyboard is registering keypresses in Windows or any Windows-related bootable device. For example, it does not work in Hirens Recue or a Windows 11 bootable installer.
When booted to Windows, not only is the keyboard not registering keypresses, but my USB keyboard is not either!
USB mouse and integrated trackpad...
