Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
by jinu_j
Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

further number on the type plate: ECN0CJ128712152C
in the same row as the number above it is still far away: CN:2480

Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52-56A5 - won't charge, shorts the AC adapter
by gleniu
Hello,

I have a problem with Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52-56A5 (motherboard: GH51M LA-K862P Rev: 1A). I was playing TLoU2, which is a rather demanding game, for a few hours, unless the notebook turned off (my guess is that the battery drained to 0%). Now, when I connect the AC adapter, the LEDs are not coming on and the laptop doesn't charge.

It also shorts the AC adapter - I've checked two of them from different manufacturers. Though the AC adapter gives 19,5V as expected, the voltage drops to 0V when I connect it and disconnect from laptop - it comes back to 19,5V when I reset...

Reverse engineering of 18650 4-channel tester
by spleenharvester
Hi friends

I have reverse engineered this tester, schematic is attached and is complete except for capacitor values. These testers annoyingly have no model number but they are the ones you find on the first page of just about any website if you type in "18650 4-channel tester". There is also a 2-channel variant and a newer 8-channel variant. They are very cheap (about £15) and can measure voltage, current, internal resistance and capacity. They have a multicolour display for all these statistics. They also have terminal blocks so that if you want to use a breakout board...

Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark
by scubacamper
I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it’s image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display...

by giulio93
Hi everyone, I have this gaming laptop that during the usage suddenly shutted down. I disassemble it and take some mesurments. I have a lab supplier and a thermocam. I tryed injected voltage at the DCIN connector and I see this little chip went up to 85 deg (at 19V) this chip should control the battery charge. Next i mesure the resistence at the big coils on top of it and the value is 0,4ohm so dead short.. Those 4 phases are the power supply of the Nvidia GPU?
I tried to inject 1V at that coil and i get 1.35A dwawn but nothing heat up...
