try to use the right method. read id JUST BEFORE YOU insert ac adapter. unplug battery, read id again if it fails. it has to work...

i'm not using this programmer, but the ufpi (best on the market in my opinion). timing is important. in this case you need to read the chip id just BEFORE plugging in the power cord (bat disconnected)! maybe it helps......

most BLANK ITE ec chips flash themselves after installing (ec backup is in spi rom). but this is only the case if they unprogrammed!

no. this is not the right programmer for those jobs. better use ufpi, svod4 or successor...

if the switch is broken just solder a wire and connect all solder spots. it's so funny that lenovo have had this problem for a decade or longer....

successor and ufpi programmer are able to do this. if you own one of these join their telegram group. the will help there.Last edited by rediii; 03-02-2025, 02:25 PM.

check the two pull-up resistors in between the lines, maybe one is faulty. normally they measure the same (datasheet says 10k).

schematics are unavailable atm. i have had a scenario where the ec rom was broken and that was why the battery wasn't charging right. but first do what mon says... do you have a scope ready?Last edited by rediii; 01-31-2025, 03:53 PM.

good to know, so i was right. keep in mind, that you might cool them with a thick thermal pad.
