Sharp Aquos LC-70C6400U Half Screen Dark

I found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display board with the upper one (sorry, I dont know what thats called).
When I removed that “jumper” ribbon cable and observed it under magnification, I noticed that the white piece which stiffens the cable end was slightly off-square with the ribbon cable itself and gingerly removed it and replaced it perfectly square back on the ribbon cable. When I reconnected it, plugged the tv back in and turned it on, the screen had a normal appearance. I agitated all pieces within that assembly, and nothing I did caused the issue to return. Accordingly, I reassembled the TV except for the back panel, and tested it again before final reassembly, and observed the issue had returned.
Pressing on the connections had no effect.
I removed the bezel once again, removed the metal frame piece again, and began inspecting all connections but found nothing out of the ordinary. I plugged the tv back in and turned it on to see the issue was still present as before. I started touching, pressing, and moving those side boards & ribbon cables, and noticed if I squeeze the “jumper” connector on the lower board, the picture returns to normal, but as soon as I let go, the display issue returns.
Before I throw in the towel on these side boards and proceed with the tape hack mentioned in the video, I wanted to post my issue here to see what y'all thought.
thanks so much for reading this far and I look forward to your suggestions and/or insight!

First Image shows general location of “side display boards” and “jumper” ribbon cable.
second shows close up of “jumper” ribbon cable.

If you get a good picture by "manipulating" I think you mean holding down on where they connect. You need to find a way to keep that pressure on. Some use good strong tape, use to be easier when tvs had actual frames to them. The tab bonds can become loose and proper connection is lost. Check youtube for bad/loose tab bonds or the like.

If I squeeze the connector with the cable hooked up, the picture returns to normal.
could this possibly be a bad solder joint fixed by reflowing that portion of the board?

I added a mini binder clip and removed the ears. This was holding great, keeping the picture 100% normal until I snapped the front bezel back on, which seems to have caused it to mess up again.

Ok, so you meant if you hold pressure on the connector it clears up? In that case you can try adding like a bit of paper on the side without the shiny connections of the end of cable that goes into connector to give it a better/tighter fit.

Are those ribbon cable jacks able to be reflowed?

Have not tried it myself, looks like it could be pretty tricky. saw this in a quick search: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nju86ZZVQHY

I guess the question is, is there some bad solder/s or is the connector no longer able to hold the the ribbon securely?

exactly what I was thinking…. I've been trying to find a way to wedge something in there to make it hold tighter. Tried the binder clip but it wasnt consistent and when I went to hang that beast on the wall (84lbs - not fun trying to do it yourself!), the “fix” unfixed.
Annoyed, I started removing screws while it hung on the wall since I knew where the root of the problem lay. I got it apart and the bezel partially pulled away and started fiddling with that ribbon “clamp” (?). As luck would have it, when I unlocked it and started to disconnect the ribbon cable, the pins must have found their proper spot and the tv magically started working fine.
I immediately stopped everything and started gingerly putting it back together.
over 7 hours of constant screen usage later and it still works. That damn thing will stay right where it's at - I aint touching it again unless it fouls up again. Might even leave it on the wall when we move
