This option works o.k. I have used this to upgrade to win11 on a hp 8300 elite, if windows 10 works windows 11 should also work.

That is one option, using Rufus to create the install media and "checking the right boxes" to disable the hardware checks is another: https://pureinfotech.com/create-wind...rted-pc-rufus/

Aside from longer support from MS (and likely 3rd. party software as well) I can't really think of any, Windows 11 is pretty much worse than 10 in just about every way (more bloat, more integrated spyware, less reliable, more ads, worse user interface, and now more AI bullshit, etc.), and 10 was worse than 7 in most respects so Windows has been a bit of a down-hill ride for a while.

One note on putting windows 11 on older hardware through work arounds though, starting with version 24H2 the POPCNT and SSE 4.2/SSE 4A CPU instruction sets are required (and this is a "hard" requirement so if you try running Windows 11 24H2 or newer on a CPU without these you will run into performance/reliability issues if it works at all due to the missing instruction sets), These became standard with the first gen Intel i3/i5/i7 (Nehalem) and AMD FX line (Bulldozer), so while your Thinkcenter M91p should be fine being 2nd gen Intel i3/i5/i7 (Sandy Bridge), but anyone trying to run a new version of windows 11 on something like a Core2Duo/Core2Quad will have issues.

You'll also definitely want an SSD (windows 10/11 runs like garbage on a spinning HDD) as a boot drive, and at least 8 GB ram (16 GB+ is better) to have tolerable performance.

Hi buddy; If i do it while it's free upgrade will i have access to all auto needed updates and will i still have access to my microsoft account .Is it worth it? . I have 3 same Lenovo think centers M91 and have other 3 extra sata HDD with win 10 and I was thinking of updating them all to Win 11.There's one think that i'm afraid is that if i have to do a Win11 clean will lose my licence?

Hi folks just learned ;bypassing the TPM requirement when upgrading from Win 10 to Win 11 does not guarantee access to all future updates and security patches. Microsoft may restrict updates to devices that meet the official hardware requirements, even if they are technically able to run Windows 11. Bypassing TPM could also lead to compatibility issues and potential malfunctions, and Microsoft may not provide support for such installations.

That’s why I don’t run Winslows anything and switched to Linux.

To be honest you would be better off just installing Linux, As said above. Not all pc hardware will work with windows 11. I can personally confirm this with my gaming PC Win 11 refuses to work. I tried several different ways and i get a BSOD every time during install.. My PC only supports TPM 1.2..

Assuming you don't have an actual need for windows (i.e. need to run windows only software) that is likely true.

Absolutely, though a TPM 1.2 (or not TPM at all) on its own won't keep you from running Windows 11 if you use one of the "work-arround" methods previously noted to bypass the checks in the installer. The missing instruction sets noted above definitely will (though CPUs without these are now 15+ years old) and other issues with lack of drivers for things like GPUs (and other hardware) that were long out of support from their OEMs before Windows 11 existed and thus never got drivers for it.

Just for "playing around with" I got Windows 11 installed (using the rufus method) on a Lenovo Thinkpad T420 (circa 2012) with an I5-2520M and TPM 1.2 and it runs fine, so installs on "unsupported hardware" can definitely be done successfully:

Good point, I'm in the same boat basically all the software i use just works better on windows and "I Use Wine on Linux". I used Rufus for my Win 11 install to but for whatever reason it installs fine on my laptop but my desktop just refuses to install without getting a BSOD after the install restart. I guess my desktop just hates Windows.. LOL 😂

I did finely made a decision on how to go about the OPS on my Lenovo M91 Small case. I kept Win 10 on one HDD and installed Linux Ubuntu on another small laptop HDD used DVD power and Sata connection and attached it to the another HDD and it fits perfectly ,then installed Grub boot manager and now i can boot either one . I find 24.04.2 LTS to be very good and i do almost everything i do in Win.

Soldered wifi upgrade to wifi 7 BE200D2W from older AX2xx based moduels.
                        by acedogblast
I have finally found a source for Intel's BE200 wifi soldered "1216" sized modules (not the larger 2230 removable M.2 modules) and I was wondering if it is possible to swap the older AX2xxD2W wifi 6/6e with this new wifi 7 module on a laptop. Supposedly both the BE200D2W and the older AX2xxD2W chips use the standard "M.2 1216 footprint" but with an additional inner-ring of pads. We have schematics of various laptops that use the AX2xxD2W chips on this forum. What we need is a schematic of a laptop that uses the new BE200D2W to check if the pinout is identical or not. Do anyone...
