Hi,

Dell Inspiron 15 3520 with MB HDL50 LA-L946P that powers on with the ac adapter however does not power on with the battery. The battery is brand new and passes all dell diagnostic test. If the ac adapter is unplugged the unit will power off but displays 100% charge. The unit will not power using the battery. The battery does charge without issues. 😕 any help?

So I am testing out a few spots on my laptop in continuity mode and I get a green light followed by a continuous beep. And they say if it beeps then the connection is bad. But the connections i'm testing are known good. Also on other areas where there is a short in the connection, it also beeps (like it's supposed to in this case), it shows the red LED indicating that it's bad. Is there a reason why the known good areas are also beeping but giving the green LED light indicating it's good? I work at a refurbish MSP where I can take a known bad board, do the measurements,...

Hi everyone, i have an old pc like from 2007, it have an Intel D945GCCR Motherboard, and it survived like 2-3 years of moisture and rust. So what I'm getting at is that I recently replaced a bulging capacitor near the southbridge chipset on this computer. The original capacitor was a KZG 820µF, 6.3V, LOWESR, 105°C, and I replaced it with an Accuon 1000µF, 16V, LOWESR, 105°C. I have this board with no display, tired of try doing on board ram diabling throug board id and BIOS, changing RAM, flashing every availavle bios on forum,

every voltage is present except one CPU Graphics voltage, cpu core present, dedicated gpu voltage present, VR_ON signal present, but no CPU Graphics voltage no display....

My MacBook pro charges fine. all voltages look ok with exception that I am measuring 1.78v where the schematic shows 1.85V on PPVCC. is that too low to work?
It powers up for approximately 10sec then shuts off. Repeatable responding to the power button.
I have tried everything i could find on searches.
The only thing left perhaps is those three mosfets that provide that voltage.
Is that what i should try next or does someone have a brilliant idea for me ...

Hi everyone, I have an Inspiron 7506 laptop I've had for a few years, and it'd occasionally have a problem where after I'd power it off, it wouldn't turn on again unless I disconnected, drained residual voltage by pressing the power button, and reconnected the battery. Dell laptop (E7440, uses the notorious CD3301B power controller + MEC5075 EC + BQ24715 charger IC)
Symptoms:

• Laptop works normally on a pre-charged battery.
• Battery does not charge when adapter is connected.
• Without battery:
  • Laptop powers on from DC adapter, passes CPU/RAM init checks, then cuts DC power abruptly.(seems to shutdown one of the mosfets in the charger path). Then the loop continues indefinitely
  • Speakers “pop” when power cut occurs indicating harsh sutdown.
  • If RAM is removed, the system shows RAM missing blink error code indefinitely without cutting DC power

I have search everywhere for a solution for my problem, but cant find it anywhere.

When I was away to trow some garbage i always look in the electronic bin.
and this time i find a laptop.
Dell G3 15 3500, when I get home i look at the battery, add one harddrive, plug in the powercord.
the lamp for charmig is white.

Tryed to start it, the screen blink for a second, the keyboard lightsup, the fans and HD starts.
but no Dell logo.
I tryed with a hdmi cable to another screen, still black.

I just recieved a working laptop for a quick dc port swap, i tested the laptop on battery it worked, tested dc port issue felt loose, so disassembled the laptop and removed battery connector, swapped the dc port, re-connected the battery connector, inserted dc pin, white led glowed up - stable, pressed power switch, but it didn't turn on, no fan spin and no display. just 1 white led that glows up, doesn't move to orange (charging), i check voltage (battery : 11.37v) (dc input port : 19.3v)(bios : 1.75), i am stumped, there is no shorting on board.

i discovered that the HDD does not spin.
there were activities at the SATA connection.

Pin 2,3,5,6 rises to 400mv then jump to about 4v, again to mv. It continues in loop that way. Same behaviour at pin 20,21,22.

5v is present at 14,15,16.

Pin 18 which is reserved has about 1.8v, sometimes it increases to 2v+.

A problem started suddenly overnight. The next morning, the laptop wouldn't boot properly — the RGB lighting on keyboard turned on, fans spun for a brief moment, but the screen remained black, and the Caps Lock key didn't respond (no indicator light).

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GA401I (4 years old, worked perfectly until recently). The system is lagging heavily, even in the BIOS, and is charging extremely slowly (a few percent in hours), making it nearly unusable. I suspect a motherboard or power delivery issue.

Hello everyone! I have an old hp workstation z420. Xeon E5 1620 v2, 8gb ecc ddr3

Basically, when I plug in the power cable to the power supply, it turns on and off while clicking every time it power cycles. Once I remove the power cable from the supply, it flashes a red light 4 times while beeping for about 10 seconds. I have purchased a new CPU and power supply already, but that hasnt fixed it so I'm convinced it's a motherboard level fault. If anyone has any ideas on what the fault could be, and/or how to diagnose it, that would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch A2238 M2 and it was stuck 5V with 0 amps. I measured some important lines and I found a short on PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN, I tried injecting 1v and I saw heat coming from the mPMU so I removed the pmu thinking that was the problem. I don't know why I didn't check the other side of the border but there it was, a shorted cap. I replaced the cap and the short was gone, so I reballed the PMU and put it on again but voltage was still stuck at 5V and the current was fluctuating between 0 and 0.45 amps. I checked under the thermal camera and I saw the mPM...
