Gigabyte GB-BXBT-1900 bios
I had the same issue with 3 of them. They all failed within 2 month after gigabyte waranty was over. All of them was all power rails present when turned on.
there is one of them is still working.
Here is working the BIOS in attachement. I think a clean ME would be needed
if you can solve the issue then I would be happy to try out your solution:
SOME HELP FOR FLASHING:
+ This BIOS can only be programmed if the 3.0v is present on the CMOS battery.
If its low or no battery is inserted then the programmer will FAIL to flash BIOS.

MORE INFO: After a Few days, the problem always came back until finally the consequence is risen.
The restart only freezes if previously the laptop is heated up above 55-60 Celsius.
If I wait until it cools down in windows the it restarts fine.
I personally think this is a very bad hardware design since I can run any stress test inside windows once it is booted up.

PROBLEM FINALLY SOLVED:
The culcpit of the problem was the Realtek Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver.
I was also surprised but after investigating the device HardwareID-s I narrowed down the problem to one PCI-E controller A151.
Maybe some of you ask: Why it was that disabling the NVIDIA card solved the problem. Later I found that when wrong driver is installed then the PCI-e A151 was used by the Network card and so the 2 devices interfered.
After the official driver was installed to the LAN device, the problem was finally gone.
Thanks for everyone that helped...

Thanks for the pictures. I have a R93 resistor that is carbonized so your picture helped. Thank you!Last edited by questore; 05-05-2024, 12:05 PM.

HP Omen LED 4k display strange red areas and half a line of scratch like
Hi Everyone,
I have brought to you a strange problem display maybe you have some ideas how it can be fixed or what could cause such a problem.
Display Type: B173ZAN01.1
MANUFACTURER: AU Optrinics
H/W:0A F/W:1
Changed the cable and tried to bend, push the back f the screen and both problem persists, nothing changes.
There is no any sign that the back of the screen was under pressure, or has moving cables.
PROBLEM 1:. Red spots / area in the screen
MORE INFO: If i gently press above the problematic area then it disappears until...Last edited by questore; 04-10-2024, 12:28 PM.

After digging trough the MP2949A datasheet on page 15 i found that PMBus voltage is set by a resistor that gives voltage from VDD18 to ADDR_P.
The default address is 20h and that means 0 voltage. (I'm guessing someone knocked off the resisitor accidentally.)
QUESTION :
What Votlage should I set the ADDR_P to? (I can experiment with different resistor values to get the exact value from VDD18)

SOLUTION:
After eliminating every hardware issue i decided to not change any mosfet since they not produce error on heavy load if nvidia is turned on after windows already started.
I have cleaned the BIOS ME region with the official HP BIOS upgrading software. and then booted windows 10 install usb in UEFI mode.
After the windows installer is installed windows without a problem and I have booted in UEFI from SSD also i knew that the problem is solved.
No errors or blue screens eversince.SOLUTION:

Re: HP OMEN-X 17T-AP000 not turning on
Looking closer on the board on MP2949A i have noticed that on ADDR_P pin there is two missing resistor. These two controls the PMBus addressing and the default is a 0Ohm resistor to ground, and no stuf on the 1.8v line, but as i see pictures of the motherboard on the internet, they both present. There is a table for the values but what values should i use for the correct address?

Where to check next? Where is VCC_SA? Should I post pictures of the board 2 side?

Where should I check VCC_SA? no schematic or boardview.
CPU PWM manager is an MP2949A

Re: HP OMEN-X 17T-AP000 not turning on
Checked CPU PWM mosfets, there is 3 type of it (someone changed it multiple times maybe) marked TYPES on the top:
PMHE86903917c
PMKP86903112C
MPGP86901733B

Re: HP OMEN-X 17T-AP000 not turning on
I would agree if i would search for the power up sequence. But the values above are present as soon as i plug the charger. No power buttom pressed yet.
Also when i press power button, no voltages on CPU so you are right on that one....

Re: HP OMEN-X 17T-AP000 not turning on
I'm still just collecting informations, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but since alll GPU coils are driven by individual gates, and all of them have 0.37v on the coil and on all high side gates , thats shouts for a problem elsewere so I thought maybe the driver chip is the one to blame. So after searching a while i found a Up9511P Datasheet:
https://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/1222413/UPI/UP9511P.html
After poking the pins I found that Ref voltages and 5VCC are present, but Enable and PGOOD are 0v and...Last edited by questore; 10-05-2023, 09:34 AM.

Re: HP OMEN-X 17T-AP000 not turning on
When Plugged in the following voltages are present on coils:
3.3v and 5V
When power button pressed, one more 3.3v, 1.0v and a 1.25v is present on more coils.
- I found that as soon as I plug in the charger (no button pressed), the GPU coils has 0.3V. Is that normal?
G1 is 0.3v on the mosfet.
GPU Mosfets are:
E6930 dual mosfets

If i understand N channel mosfets datasheet right then G1-D2=0.3V-20.1V...Last edited by questore; 09-25-2023, 07:19 AM.
