Reading a few articles and forums I think 192kb chip is OK as long as the original was 192kb firmware.
Altought Trying different bios i have encountered something very strange i have never seen until now.
When trying to program the BIOS while it is on the board it is literraly impossible.
Every pin is connected to the bios but when i try to detect the BIOS IC, the CH341 reader frozes (10/10) 1 time from every 10 i can detect the bios type but then the neoprogrammer frozes.
If i transfer the BIOS IC to a programming bord then its no problem to read/write the BIOS....Leave a comment:

It is possible that i f*cked up.the hole thing.
i'm on a holliday now and wanted to check out my orders and remembered that this laptop came with it8227e-256 chip and i have replaced it with a 192 one. Could this be a problem? Or the ec firmware for 2.0 board is still 192kbyte? I have asked for the seller tomsend me the ec firmware that he flashed maybe it will give us some light on what could be the problemLeave a comment:

Already checked and it is connected. also got 10k resistance to 1.8v ALW.
Tryed a lot of BIOS from here and all of them gives SPI pin 0.011mV but one I found is giving me 1.45v on SPI pin (still NO POST)
attached the BIOS but I dont know what it means.
Also tryed BIOS from davidebeatrici 's post same 0.011mv...Leave a comment:

Rechecked every SIO pin connection and found a lose one, altought i have checked it before when soldered.
+ Now It turns on and not restarting .
+ CPU and GPU are slowly getting mildly hot (52 celsius).
+ CPU Voltage are now 1.1V
+ GPU voltage 0.79V (i have not got this before)
After the first start the power LED on the side is constantly blinking white nonstop.
After turned off by pressing the power button 20seconds plugged in the battery and turned on laptop again the LED is now white constant and not blinking anymore.
+ The battery started to charge....Last edited by questore; 08-31-2025, 10:59 AM.Leave a comment:

Why i have not thought of it, me dumb.
I guess 0.4 ohms is too low for an i7-7700HQ??Anyone has a resistance table for CPU-s?...

HP OMEN 15-ce012nh give error code 5long 3 short after CPU LOW SIDE MOSFET BURN
Hello everyone.
Someone brought this poor hp in.
All power rails had normal resistances so i turned it on. Instant power cutoff...
First mosfet was shorted so replaced it...
After that I have tryed to start since no short was on the main power rail. the CPU middle dual mosfet heated up and protection shut down the laptop.
After investigating i have found that when the mosftet turning on then the mostfet got instantly hot (not the CPU)
Removed the faulty mosfet. -> now laptop turns on CPU mildly gets hot but laptop gives the common 5 long 3 short LED... -
I would also need a schematic for this.
I'm Looking for DRAMRST# signal points to measureLeave a comment:

Difference is I have got Vcore 0.810V, but of course RAM tester shows missing lines so maybe different solder joins cracked.
GPU also has no voltage.
(I have tryed 2 times removing chips with lenovo black glue and both ended up ripped pads where glue was. second was a but less ripped pads)...Last edited by questore; 08-16-2025, 11:38 AM.Leave a comment:

Changed EC and problem is the same.
Summary:
- No short on the board.
- GPU colils and memory has no power
every other power rail present and OK
- RAM tester shows 3 missing signal on both ram slots
- The CPU coils are getting hot (45 Celsius) but CPU is cold.
- CPU coils have 0.810V when plugged in
The coils and 4 ohms resistance by default.
Is the CPU dead? could it be a 32Khz or 48Mhz crystal problem?
Anyone help me diagnose if CPU dead or broken solder bals or CPU controller faulty maybe?Last edited by questore; 08-15-2025, 12:27 PM.Leave a comment:
