How do I flash bios to an Alienware M16 R1 AMD edition?
    by Arc717
I am trying to downgrade my bios on my Alienware so I can undervolt & overclock my CPU, and overclock my ram. I need to get to bios 1.2.2 for this. Dell doesn't allow downgrades, and their bios file is an exe compiled in c++, so I can't decompile it easily. I am wondering if I can flash the bios manually using a usb flasher. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, where the bios chip would be. I know flashers are pretty cheap and the bios chip is 8-pin. There are two of these chips only when I open the back panel of the laptop. I'm not sure if there are any on the other side of...

    Equipment Display Types
    by Mark R
Most Displays I have worked with are of course LCD Or Blueish Fluorescent Types. I Have a Marantz PMD800 tuner with sort of a white display. The display area is a sealed rectangular shape in a Glass Case. Looks like some sort L.E.D. display only not your typical section number type. I picked up this Tuner cheap as the display is very Dim. In front of the circuit is a dull red Plastic lens.

The display is very week and hard to see. I've got my DC 5 Volts allover and also a DC 32 Volt that runs some other section. Power supply looks good front to back. Not familiar with this type...

Does Changing Out Caps In A Tuner Effect FM Reception
    by Mark R
"TQ" Subject at hand is a Marantz 120 tuner. The tuner lit up but no output. Recapped the entire unit. Before it was working fine tuning in Stereo and Mono. Now it just about tunes Stereo and some of the mono stations are weak. Nothing else was changed. When you do hit a stereo station the stereo lamp will come on but flickers as it's trying to hold the MPX signal.

I don't see how bringing the unit back with new caps checked by my Sencore LC103 would effect the FM section. Every Value is as it was from the factory?

    Any Thoughts?

Gardena lawnmowerrobot mainboard, short out battery
    by Stigsolbjerg
    hi again
this time its a mainboard from a mowerrobot, when i connect battery it shorts it, so the bms shuts down battery.
when take the mm in beepmode and measure from the positive to the negative battery terminal on the board it beeps shortly like 0,25 sec, and when i reverse the probes it beeps again shortly 0,25 sec.
when i mesure on the cap thats missing in pic nr 2, the bottom solderpath goes to the negative, the upper one is 1,2 ohm to negative is this a short?

    hope Capleaker is still around

    Hisense 55H8F Emmc programming help
    by EazyBone
I am extremely new to programming and dipping into this. I picked up a XGECU T48 Programmer and have the correct socket for EMMC.
I took the EMMC off a working main board with no problems and threw it into the programmer. I click analysis IC and it gives me a report (attached) of the current EMMC. Model H26M41204HPR

    1) I manually found this chip(above model number) in the select IC section of the XGPRO 12.xx programmer software and it had a option for 4 bit and 1 bit. I chose 4... is this correct?

    2) In the options section point number 2 operation says "30...

Reduce the size of photos please..
    by Davi.p
Hi all, i'm asking all to reduce photos to a more comfortable resolution before post, the better like around 2000x2000, otherwise many PC / Tablets / phones refuses often to load them or has strong defection... today's digital cameras integrated in phones especially are a mockery because them saves photos at enormous resolutions with much less the real definition, so reducing them is only a good deal.. THANKS!!...

TongFang GK5CN5Z (CyberPowerPC Tracer III Xtreme) LCD backlight flickering
    by k24a1
Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness...

    Sony XBR-52LX900 BL_ERR
    by Nicktronic
Hi all, just curious if the BL_ERR signal is active high or low? TV has the 6 blink error code and I've changed the backlights as they tested questionable (4 strips tested - 203VDC, 203VDC, 203VDC and 175VDC). The new strips all tested at 175VDC. Now when I turn it on, it tries twice to come up and then the 6 blink code. During the this time the BL_ERR pin is high and drops low momentarily, then does it again on the 2nd try to boot (so Im assuming active low). The other thing is the backlight voltage ramps to ~280VDC from around ~160VDC and then back down as the TV tries to boot again. Does...

    Hi,

I purchased one of those units for a project and the BIOS is password protected. I was able to dump the BIOS (Insyde), it's 8MB. Tried various ways to clear up the pwd to no avail. Hoping someone can figure out how to bypass it.

    Thanks!
