Hello all. I followed the link as best I could. Flashed the bios again. Laptop is fully functional but very slow startup and HP logo sign. I am not sure what file to use if EC needs to be repaired. All laptop info looks correct in bios. I assume that is ME area? I'm confused as this is a bin right from here and every comment says no issues

Funny thing before I zip the file they are both 16.0 MB (16,777,216 bytes)
Why would this be?
I've read alot on this forum today and not sure to install a new bios and then try to go trough the process of installing all bios information. Not sure its a little more than I can understand at this point.Leave a comment:

Hey guys. Need help. So I used HpUnlocker on my functional 840 G2 laptop. I saved the orig dump. Ran it through the program and flashed it back with verify. Now laptop has black screen and caps light flashing. Tried multiple times. Then I downloaded HP bios from site and installed through holding "B" and it fixed it BUT now it says
Custom logo image greater than 1024x760
Warning Machine is not in committed state
Good news is there is no password
I have attached both
I'm at a loss and hopefully someone can help

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I have repaired. I have many laptops left from when I did and I am getting back into it as a hobby. That said I have this laptop with no display. Things I have tried
1. Checked most power supplies and they seem ok along with cpu voltage and it does seem heated/on
2. If I hold "D" when powering on it will display the test colours
3. I think I tried a bios from here but starting fresh again
4. When powering on it will not post and eventually fan runs at full speed.

I agree it is pointless to fix. I had 5 or 6 AMD CQ42 and CQ62 all with this same issue. If you try to search other faults on the board you will always come back to heating up the chip and it will work temporarily. I've also had it where DVD is not recognized....Leave a comment:

Funny thing I set this laptop aside after doing a hard reset and other things but it was dead. I came back an hour later and it was running with fan on high on its own. I held down the power button to reset it and all is good.

Okay so I tried that bios before I seen the password from the last post. Laptop turned on posted and I got into bios with password removed then the fan speed was erratic up and down and it shut off. Now its dead. I tried going back to my original dump and laptop completely dead just charging light with no response. I tried reprogram again just in case but still dead

Sorry I am pretty good at MB repair but very little at Bios dump. At lapfix there is no issue entering bios the only pop up is when you try to make a change it asks for password but no other system # or service tag # just asks for password. I can put in 100 times and it just says wrong with no other info attached
@ peste is that another bios dump (sorry very new to this)

Dell Vostro 3500 Admin Password Question
Good day all. I have this vostro 3500 that I need to remove the Admin password in order to change the boot menu as usb is not an option. My question is if I save the bios off the windbond chip 4mb is this where the password is stored?
I understand that a request is in another section but I am just looking for help on where it is located
The machine has no other issues other than I cannot make bios changes of any sort.

Thanks for the help guys. As far as I can tell the step down converters are ok. I am thinking the gate voltages are wrong on my AO3400A mosfets (not sure) but I think the voltage varies on the amount of charge determined so it confuses me.
