Re: Dell Vostro 3500 Admin Password Remove
Funny thing I set this laptop aside after doing a hard reset and other things but it was dead. I came back an hour later and it was running with fan on high on its own. I held down the power button to reset it and all is good.
Yes the password is ford

Re: Dell Vostro 3500 Admin Password Remove
Okay so I tried that bios before I seen the password from the last post. Laptop turned on posted and I got into bios with password removed then the fan speed was erratic up and down and it shut off. Now its dead. I tried going back to my original dump and laptop completely dead just charging light with no response. I tried reprogram again just in case but still dead
Lol
I'm not sure as all was ok before just password issueLast edited by Jesse James; 04-14-2020, 12:45 PM.

Re: Dell Vostro 3500 Admin Password Remove
Sorry I am pretty good at MB repair but very little at Bios dump. At lapfix there is no issue entering bios the only pop up is when you try to make a change it asks for password but no other system # or service tag # just asks for password. I can put in 100 times and it just says wrong with no other info attached
@ peste is that another bios dump (sorry very new to this)
This is an Intel i5 no discrete graphics

I understand that a request is in another section but I am just looking for help on where it is located
The machine has no other issues other than I cannot make bios changes of any sort.
Thanks in advance

Re: Opus BT-C3100 2.2 Problem
Thanks for the help guys. As far as I can tell the step down converters are ok. I am thinking the gate voltages are wrong on my AO3400A mosfets (not sure) but I think the voltage varies on the amount of charge determined so it confuses me. All I know is at any setting 200ma-1000ma three of the four bays are only charging 30-40ma on my volt meter and when selecting discharge I am getting 0....Last edited by Jesse James; 01-17-2020, 11:17 AM.

Opus BT-C3100 2.2 Problem
Hello all. I am not sure if anyone is familiar with this lithium Ion charger. I have had discharging issues that turned out to be cracked solders for the discharge resistors. This is a 4 bay charger and tester with mah load test. The problem I am having is now bay 2 and 4 will not charge or discharge at all. It goes through all the steps as if it was working but my voltage never changes.
I have tested resistors and diodes and also tried to compare a good working bay with the non working bay but am at a loss.
Any help would be great...Last edited by Jesse James; 12-25-2019, 01:36 PM.

Re: Reviving Samsung laptop battery (BQ20Z controller)
I have been repairing/recycling laptop packs for the last 6 months and here is what I know. If the fuse has blown on the board (they all have one) it means bms has went into shutdown mode. There is always a reason for this such as one cell getting too hot, too many charge cycles, over/under voltage ect.
18650 cells run from 3.7v to 4.2v fully charged
Yours probably has a 12A43 fuse that should have 0ohm side to side and about 8ohm top to bottom. Check this first.
If the pack can be charged to min voltage and...Last edited by Jesse James; 07-28-2019, 12:58 PM.
