Hi guys i built a small 6 watt audio amp for my PC but did not put a sound switch on it, but i need to put a 2 pole switch between amp and speakers on the cable itself , do i use the positive side or negative side? .Thanks

switch what? turn the sound off or re-rout sound to something else?
logic ductates just power off the amp?

I already figuered it out,i had a smal car 2 way switch in my scrap and put it in the cable from the Amp to the speakers in the Ground side and all is good.Well why i needed the switch! ,because when i built the power amp for the PC pam8403 audio Amplifier i did not use a volume control and need to cut off sound from the speakers so to route it to some tvs in the house using an Adapter Composite VGA to Video,S-Video Converter to a RF coaxil converter to all my tvs ,thanks anyway.Comment

Hi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). Hi, i've got problem with Dell Vostro 5490.
Board - Mantis CML 18788-1
Windows says "no audio device detected". The other functions work properly.
What i've done:
1. I checked motherboard
2. I changed audio codec (ALC3204)
3. I reflashed bios with clear ME
4. Audio is enable in bios
5. Both speakers are good
6. After installing the drivers from the Dell website, the devices visible in the manager:
- Audio for intel displays
- Intel Smart Sound Technology... -
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!!
what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

Got a bunch of Motorola Minitor V pagers from Fire Departments here trying to fix some out of the non working ones. These pagers are known for either no sound / audio or they don’t charge. The internet is full of suggestions like metal shavings inside the speaker?
Anyway so I took one of the Minitor’s apart for my amusement in order to see why that is and nobody can fix em.
There are no service manuals or schematics for these that I know of. However… I did find the problem!
On the main board of this unit where the speaker connects to there is a metal shield....
