  • HP Pavilion ze4200 (DAKT7DMB8A7 REV A) schematics needed for project

Hello... I recently inherited a Pavilion ze4900 and noticed the board had provisions for serial, parallel, PS/2, and video out ports but were not used. The earlier ze4000 models have these ports so I want to try swapping them over. There is the HP Compaq nx9040 which is based on the ze4900, but those are very hard to find and having a few port-sized holes in my ze4200 after a board upgrade would not be pleasant... especially considering I'll need those ports. Would anyone have a schematic for the DAKT7DMB8A7 REV A motherboard that I can use to find components I can populate the other board wi...

  • (Request) PowerBook G3 PDQ/Wallstreet II 820-1014-A main board schematic

Modifying a spare board to populate the unused VRAM slot and I'd like the schematic so I can see if there's anything else I need to do, or if there's a way I can activate it if it's not enabled by default. P/N is 820-1014-A... yes, it's 26 years old I know!

  • TongFang GK5CN5Z (CyberPowerPC Tracer III Xtreme) LCD backlight flickering

Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness...

  • Several months later and the TV is still working with good audio! Yeah, I'd personally do a full recap but I'll have to put a lot of money into that, and for now it works perfectly fine.

  • Re: JVC I'Art AV-27F703 Left speaker audio not working

I forgot to reply to this (I had a painful kidney stone that left me sleepless for several nights) but I've determined the culprit. These I'arts have crappy blue Samsung capacitors that start to leak after a while, and replacing those fixed the audio issue. Mine was used quite a lot before I got it so I knew something was going on with the capacitors. The other capacitors seemed fine though, only the larger blue samsungs had the issue of leaking on the bottom. Luckily, nothing was severely damaged and now that the replacement...

  • JVC I'Art AV-27F703 Left speaker audio not working

    Hello Badcaps.net!

I have an old-school CRT TV that's a JVC I'Art 27F703 from july of 2002 that I use for my older game systems. It has been working great until I noticed that the left speaker is not working. I have also tried adjusting balance and trying external speakers, and that even had the same issue though the equipment itself passed the sound test! I actually took a closer look inside and some of the capacitors on the audio circuitry portion of the mainboard were starting to leak underneath! They were samsung capacitors and uh, I don't see those ever being touted as reputable.......
