    Sony XBR-52LX900 BL_ERR
    by Nicktronic
Hi all, just curious if the BL_ERR signal is active high or low? TV has the 6 blink error code and I've changed the backlights as they tested questionable (4 strips tested - 203VDC, 203VDC, 203VDC and 175VDC). The new strips all tested at 175VDC. Now when I turn it on, it tries twice to come up and then the 6 blink code. During the this time the BL_ERR pin is high and drops low momentarily, then does it again on the 2nd try to boot (so Im assuming active low). The other thing is the backlight voltage ramps to ~280VDC from around ~160VDC and then back down as the TV tries to boot again. Does...

Disable faulty soldered RAM on Acer A315-22
    by mat2k
Hello, I've been googling for some pointers on this but couldn't find anything that applies to this board. I have an Acer A315-22 (board NB8607) with faulty RAM between 142 and 174mb. I just wanted to disable the onboard RAM altogether, but this one doesn't seem to have any memory down ID resistors or strap in order to disable it. I'm attaching the schematic I found, the boardview for it also seems to be available somewhere in this forum but I still don't have a use for it lol.
How would I disable the RAM on this PC? Thanks for the help.

Pioneer PN50951-22U Backlight On, No Image
    by x_orange90_x
I get backlights that stay on not there is no image. The tv does not automatically power on when plugged in either which I generally see happen when there is a fault. It responds as it should to the power button.

I checked the test points on the TCON and I have proper voltages except for at 1P15V. I don't know if that is supposed to be 15V or 5V, but either way I only get 1.134V on that point. I have 12V, 8V, VCC, and a small amount on the CKV point.

I tried heating up the SoC on the main board but that made no difference. Disconnecting either ribbon from the TCON also...

    Identifying component Flyback? DC-DC?
    by unimatrix93
Can I ask you guys help me identify this godforsaken component?

I'm tearing my hair out finding this component.

The board is from an egg incubator.
i got it with a "popped cap" while there are many damaged components on it, which got succesfully identified with one exception:

I want to dim light bulb by 50% I want to learn how to calculate it on my own
    by Omron
I have a 5W lamp on 12Volts battery, I want it to be half as bright, so I will add a resistor. What resistor should I supply?

    A = W = 5 = 0.416mA
    _ _
    V 12

    R = V = 12 = 28.84 Ohms (R) this is resistance of lamp
    _ _____
    I 0.416

So I will add one resistor 28.84 Ohms

    I will have 28.84 + 28.84 = 57.6 Ohms

    Or 28.84 + 28.84 = 14.42 Ohms

I don't know if it will work in series or in parallel
voltage would be 6V and amp current mA = 0.208mA We divide everything by two

Where to attach programmer for EC chip
    by chickenhawk88
    Hi everyone,
I have Razer Blade 15 RZ09-0369 with EC chip that was shorted. Atleast I believe so as it was drawing the most current on my bench power. I got a new chip and programmer to go with it. But I don't know where the SM bus connection point is on the motherboard as I don't have the schematics. I couldn't find the data sheet pinout for the IT8390E-256 chip either....

How can I test non-polarized capacitor?
    by chth96
I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm

And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...

    DELL Inspiron 3477 AIO
    by Sraros
    Hello,
I post this in this section for a Dell Inspiron 3477 All in one as the motherboard is more close to a laptop one.
So, the issue is that whatever adapter I use, I get this screen when it starts up. I tried aftermarket adapters and original HP adapters, both 65W and 90W. Minimum requirement is 65W.
I don't have its authentic Dell adapter as I took it for free in case I manage to repair it, but the HP ones I think are pretty much identical.

First thing I checked is if the dc jack on the board has an issue but with the MM I see all three pins, ground, 19.5V and...

I got a new EC chip cause old one was shorted but I need to reprogram it somehow. I got the chip and the programmer/reader. I also trying to figure out where to hook up the wires for the programmer. It says to connect to SM bus on motherboard . Any help is appreciated.

    Steelshock 4 v2 controller
    by Péter Fodor
I have got an Steeldigi Steelshock 4 v2 controller won't draw any amp from outlet.
I have disassembled and removed the battery. I have tied to measure some points. The usb connector shows 5 volts. There are test points and shows 5 volts everywhere it should. The battery connector in diode mode shows 0.009v is it ok?

There is an U4 chip place, but no chip, between the battery connector and the charging port.

How should I progress to identify the problem?

Can anyone help me with this?...

Anyone know how to take apart a Fluke T100 Voltage Tester without damaging it?
    by cheeky2
See attached picture. I have a Fluke T100 Voltage Tester that the resistance and diode measurement isn't working (it's not the batteries (as I have already checked them and put decent Duracell 1.5V AAA batteries inside it).
I have looked on the web for any information and on youtube without any results for this model.
There are no screws visible or anything obvious. So I am hoping someone here has the solution to take it apart?
The only way I can see is underneath the yellow rubber handle area, however I don't wish to damage it if it isn't the case!...
