For those that still have this problem, the solution lies in the DMI configuration... you need to set your current motherboard bios into MPM mode and change FeatureByte, Build ID and System Board CT number to the previous motherboard or identical one that supports a touch screen....Leave a comment:

9 times out of 10 the CPU dies as a result of VRM IC/high-side MOSFET shorts like piernov said .... I've read in other forums where members in similar situations had to replace the CPU to fix the motherboard.... you can checkout google for working voltage coil resistances for your CPU....Leave a comment:

Hello, I don't know the last time the laptop was serviced... so I will suggest that the laptop be taken apart and the motherboard checked for any form of spillage, corrosion or dirt between components an also check usb ports to verify all contact pins are in place......Leave a comment:

I'm praying someone can create a configuration file so the RT809H can read ENE controllers with memory sizes beyond 128kb, because I've tried programming KB9542Q (160kb) without success. You can only choose KB90xx from the drop-down menu with no option to choose between 128kb or 160kb like the SVOD. I also have SVOD but it always programs that EC with errors ...Leave a comment:

Did some experimenting to try supervisor password removal ... initially laptop has supervisor password and no computrace. I erase IT8186VG controller, it self-reprograms upon booting with serial number errors and supervisor password is gone but to my surprise computrace automatically activates ... I program a clean bios file downloaded and cut from website and upon booting, self-healing activates and upon checking setup, password still gone but computrace remains activated ... I write back backups of both Bios and EC and things are back to normal, that is supervisor password is back and computrace... -
