• Thank you very much for your reply! I also measured all of caps on the small PCB which should be connected to cathode ray tube. By the way, I saw below youtube video. Although I can not understand the language youtube uploader speaks,But it seems that He demonstrate How to check Str 6707 with DMM's diode mode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl0POb5TeDY So I desoldered Str 6707 from HOT area in PCB and followed the way he demonstrated like below dropbox link. • I replaced all of bad caps and I also replaced another SMS capacitor 160v 2.2uf from Korea chemicon with Rubycon YX which is very close to D1879 transistor.

• I always replace bad capacitor with "a capacitor which has higher or same difference ripple current rating",If it is located in SMPS PCB.
But Is it OKAY to replace with "a capacitor with a lot lower ripple current rating", which is adjacent to D1879 transistor in COLD area of PCB?

• Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?

When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

• When You use ESR meter on circuit in order to identify bad capacitor, how You know whether a specific capacitor really bad or not, if datasheet of specific capacitor doesn't contains any information about ESR value at all?

• How can I find ESR value for bad capacitor?

I usually tried to find datasheet which contains Maximum ESR value like KME datasheet.
https://www.westfloridacomponents.com/mm5/graphics/S06/KME250VB10RM10X20LL.pdf

As far as I know,Maximum ESR means boundary ESR value for bad capacitor.
But,In many case, there is no ESR value in datasheet like below links.

• Thank you very much for your rapidness reply.
By the way,It seems that Samxon GF has different frequency rate(100kHZ) for Maximum ripple current and Low impedence specification.

Is it OKAY to replace 105 degree Celsius capacitor with any Low impedence caps like samxon GF series?Thank you very much for your rapidness reply....

• Can I replace KME cap with Samxon GF cap?

Hello.
I have 29inch LG CRT TV,And Yesterday,Whenever I connect AC power cord to power outlet without switch on, I heard a sound like white noise, And When I switched on this CRT TV, It sometime displayed correctly But usually It won't last more than 20 minute and The screen begin to dark and It finally did not display at all for hours..
Today,I dismantled its plastic case and discharged the biggest capacitor(400wv 470uf) which still holds 250 voltage, and I finally detached PCB from cathode-ray tube.
I measured ESR value of most of caps in PCB with MESR-100 and I found that KME(25v...

• By the way it usually took more than 20 hours to charge by itself until 0.6V.
Then Is it ordinary Dielectric absorption and Can I use this large capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) as main filter capacitor in future?

• desoldered capacitor is self charging until 0.6 voltage.

I have an 21 inch CRT TV which is not able to power on.
I disassembled 21 inch CRT TV and measured voltage of main filter capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) in the circuit.
It shows 270V on my DMM.

So I discharged this main filter capactior completely and detached circuit board from cathode-ray tube.
Then I desoldered this main filter capacitor from circuit board.
But I noticed that this desoldered large capacitor(Samhwa HC 400WV 220uF) is slowly charged by itself until it reached 0.6V

I measured its ESR value with MESR-100 and it shows 0.1 ohm,judging...

• Yesterday,I received UF4005 diode from local electronics store and I replace all of four MPG06J diode with this UF4005.
I tested this PSU without any connection and I measured each pin of 3.3v,5v,12v and my DMM shows voltage result of 3.32v,5.05v 11.6v and I finally connected this PSU with mainboard and.....It works like a charm!
I played some games for three hours, and I confirmed that there is no freezing and no abnomality during gameplay.
Thank you again very much for all of reply which play a major role for fixing PSU unit.

I heard that some analogue meter make use of 9v battery as well as two 1.5 volt battery in order to measure 10k ohm range resistance.
I read EBOOK and it says that
"You have to select your analogue meter to x10K ohm range to test the diode. The output voltage of x10k ohms is about 12 Volt(1.5 volt+1.5 volt+9 volt=12 volt)
the diode under test should show only one reading,If the meter showed one reading, the diode is good.If it has two readings the most probably the diode is shorted or leaky. The digital meter can't test it because the output...

• Is it possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue meter?

I read EBOOK of Testing Electronic Component and found that

"In order to test the small blue resin coated ceramic disk capacitor which has 104 50v specification,it is possible to test this small ceramic capacitor by making use of analogue meter.
Set to times 10Kohm that has 12v output from the probe to check disorder of ceramic capacitor.
It is not uncommon that testing result of digital capacitance meter is okay,But It show shorted reading when you check it with analogue meter."

Is it really possible to test small ceramic disc capacitor with analogue...

• Thank you very much for all reply!
Infact, This diode is came from PSU of old game console(dreamcast) which have connected to 220v outlet by previous owner and It is not able to turn on.

A few days ago, I replaced bulged capacitor(200v 100uf) with normal cap and replaced another 2a 250v fuse.and I switched on its PSU without any connection.
But As soon as I switched on, I saw a strong spark near fuse and coil and It blowed fuse once again.
So I tested four rectifier diodes, which is located in between bulged capacitor and fuse, I found that two rectifier diodes(MPG06J)...

It is very hard to find this MPG06J diode in my place.

in fact,It is becoming harder to get dreamcast mainboard in my nation.
So I really want to reduce likelihood of mainboard breakdown if there is something wrong in psu....

• I will connect only power cord and power switch to psu unit and will push power button in order to measuring voltage for all of six pin connector.
I really hope that it would be no harm to psu unit, when I test this psu without any load.
