Remove the JTAG_STRAP resistor then you'll see the ID but unable to read with J-Link...

It's a PSID signal which determines how many wattages of the charger you have plugged in. Unable to detect the charger may come from broken PR102 (it should be 33ohm if you measure 2 ends of the resistor), PD100.
It's not close to charging circuit but it's close to charger port....1 Photo

Check diode value of R5300, R5301, R5305, R5306. Maybe the contact between T2 chip and the pad is not good....

I know some people can unlock these models but because they're doing this for business so I don't get much information but beside MEC1503 there is NPCX997 EC chip from Nuvoton also. I did some research on Nuvoton chip and found that they're program it via SWD interface so maybe you can change a different approach on MEC chip....

In T2 chip you can remove MDM by changing serial number from EEPROM IC but in M1 the serial number inside CPU so the only option is to skip mdm and block connection to apple server. You can try to search on google, there are few posts showing how to do that....
