If there is no crack on the LCD from different angles but the backlight works, look for debris that may have gotten under the cable. Based on the user's indication that the image faded gradually and with artifacts, this points to a broken cable.

The cause of the malfunction is a defective flexible cable.

What is the voltage to ground of ALL_SYS_PWRGD? ALL_SYS_PWRGD=1.8V
The current draw is an immediate 1.7A upon power on? No, it starts at around 20V/0.250A.
PVCCIO_EN=1.8v This is fine?Last edited by PITERPENY; 11-24-2025, 05:32 PM.Leave a comment:

macbook pro A2289 820-01987
Need community help
No loading
Touchpad clicks
Caps lock doesn't light
Macbook charges at 20V/1.7A
Restores from DFU without errors
Fan starts spinning and immediately shuts off
Without battery, power consumption is 20V/0.800A
Voltage levels are 3.3/5/2.5/1.8
CPU is warm
I put the board in a different case and the behavior remains unchanged
Board reboots occasionally -
I took the device apart. The power supply is working properly and delivers 48 volts as expected. No short circuits were detected on the motherboard. Perhaps a firmware error occurred during the update? How do I connect it to my MacBook to see if it's in recovery mode?! Does anyone have any advice on what the problem might be and where can I get a cable like this?1 PhotoLeave a comment:

Hello. Need a fresh look. MacBook shows no signs of life.
When connected to USB-C with the battery connected, the consumption is 20V/0.220A and PPBUSG3H=11V.
If you disconnect the battery, the consumption will be 5V/0.220A and PPBUSG3H=12.3V
PP3V3_G3H=3.3V
PP5V_G3S=0V
PP1V8_SLPS2R =1.8v =0v=1.8v =... cyclically
voltage around u7800 appears/disappears cyclically. -
If anyone is suddenly interested in how I got rid of the horizontal lines on this display and what happened to it, you can watch it on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/4L6XiIRbgfs...Leave a comment:
