by milktoast56I am struggling to find the LPC_DEBUG header pinout for this motherboard, does anyone know it?
Thanks in advance05-10-2024, 06:31 AM -
by Perry BabinI think this has been answered but I couldn't find the thread.
Someone asked me if it would harm a capacitor (10F [not a typo], 24v) if it was operated on nothing more than 12v.
So, I ask... Does it change any of the capacitor's characteristics/parameters/? in any way if it is never operated near rated voltage?
If operated for years at 1/2 rated voltage, does it accept full rated voltage like it would if it had always been operated at the higher voltage?
Or would it require reforming?-

by md500zz0.8tpitu4y0i8zzI bought a ch341a (I'm waiting for it to arrive) and I noticed that the programmer has a bug that the data pins go to 5v when the VCC pin is at 3.3v (which is the voltage I'm looking for).
Instead of doing the 3.3v mod, I'm thinking of converting the 5v to 3.3v with an 8 channel TXS0108E through the ZIF socket but I don't know if that would work, because it has to circulate voltage and also information.
What I am looking for is something that will convert from 5v to 3.3v but without modifying the ch341a.
I can't buy the ch341a 1.6v that has...Yesterday, 06:51 PM -

by FrozenHaxorHey, I'm repairing a board from liquid damaged laptop, managed to get 5V and 3.3V rails up, some passives were corroded away. Only problem right now is no reaction to power button, there is no PCH_PWR_EN signal, DPWROK_EC is 2.5V, +1.0VALW is missing. Replaced KBC with brand new one, reprogrammed. No change. Any ideas? Schematic and boardview are available, attached them at the bottom. Boardview file can be opened by "BoardViewer" software.
Please don't mind the damage near UC4, it was caused by liquid damage and there is battery connector on the other side,...2 Photos05-23-2024, 11:10 AM -
by karloxHello! Greetings, can someone help me check the BIOS backup programming of this laptop? I backed it up with NeoProgrammer, but when I transferred the code to the chip, the device's power LED turns on and then immediately turns off. The tragic thing is that it was working; I made a backup because I replaced a chip that was causing the battery not to be detected. I tested the device and it worked, the battery was detected. However, as a method I sometimes apply when working with devices with power issues, I erased the BIOS IC and reprogrammed it, but this time it failed. I downloaded the BIOS from...

by mrfree2itaHi all, I'm looking at what seems to be a nice puzzle
A ThinkPad T14s Gen 1 that stopped working more or less a month after the warranty expired. I tried to boot both Windows 10 and Debian 12 from a USB stick. In the first case, the system just reboots after showing the Windows logo for a few seconds, while I'm able to see the Linux kernel crashing if I boot the second in failsafe mode.
Interestingly, some times (unfortunately it's difficult to replicate) I manage to boot into Debian 12 live. Moreover, the kernel doesn't seem to crash always at the same point during...2 PhotosToday, 03:43 PM -
by BelmotoHi there,
Recently I had a problem with my msi z170a m7 mobo usb c/3.1 port,
The port connects normally but when I transfer data it transfers with full speed (from the pc to the device I'm sending to) but it does not receive with the same speed, to make it simpler, if I plugged a wifi adapter to it, I can upload with full speed but I can't download with the same speed, but if I connected the adapter to different port it downloads at full speed.
I'm not sure if it's a HW problem or a SW one,
I have MSI z170a m7, with modded bios to install coffee...05-20-2024, 03:06 PM

Hi everyone!
Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.
My issue: No backlight.
Model: QE82Q70RAT
Type No: QE82Q70RAT
The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.
So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

by cheeky2I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...Today, 03:27 AM -
by earwig_nickHello all,
I'm working on an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-54) with motherboard EH5VF LA-501P with a short on the power rail.
I'm just learning board level diagnostic, but here is what I've found so far.
I injected 1.5v to one of the positive leads on the DC jack connector (PJP101) and read about 1.4a to ground.
I felt around for heat and found the MOSFET at PQB12 is rippin hot!
when i pulled the MOSFET from the board the short went away. In my mind it was a faulty MOSFET.
Ordered a replacement and got it installed only to find it gets very hot again and the short returns....05-23-2024, 06:07 PM -
by JonnxHello everybody,
I have seen a lot of posts about the A2237/A2338 about the 5V not boosting up to 20V issue, but none of them seem to have the exact problem as my board does.
My PPBUS_AON was measuring ~9.32V and the board kept power cycling, so I removed the fuse F5200 to measure PPVBAT_AON_CHGR_REG and indeed it was still 9.32V, but the board stopped power cycling. Then I measured U5200 values and got this:
U5200:
PPDCIN_AON_CHGR_R = 5.144V
AUX_DET = 1.287V
VDD = 2.767V
VDDP = 2.767V
AUX_OK = 0.848V
AMON = 0V
BMON...Today, 12:00 PM
