Amazing! Unit booted up on this file.
Would you be able to fill me in on how this was accomplished?
I was able to extract some files that looked like BIOS from the Dell download, but they did not work.
I would love to learn and maybe help others in this forum some day.

Unit is turning on again with this file. Hangs at DELL logo, then power cycles about once per minute.

I downloaded the update file from Dell, but I cannot figure out where to go from here.

Hello,
I flashed your file. Doesn't appear to have changed anything. That's the file that I was able to extract clean from the Acer download file.
I'm not fully up to speed on these models with two SPI chips, especially when the MFG download does not contain data for both chips.

Good morning,
I have an N24H2 here that appears to be corrupted BIOS.
It's a model with two 16mb SPI chips. I am able to extract the one from the Acer BIOS download with HxD, but I am not certain how to do anything with the 2nd chip.
Uploading both to see if anyone can help.

I just got another of this model in for service. Seems like this one is a hardware issue as main B+ rail reads shorted. I read both ICs again. Maybe these files can be used to build a clean BIOS for this model?

My programmer is an RT809F and I have a 1.8v adapter that I use for any chips that require it. Chips are 25RU128CH and 25QU128CH. I know I have read/written these on this programmer in the past successfully.

I removed both of the chips to read them. I will keep my eyes open for another of these. We are under rather strict time constraints and the customers get a replacement if we cannot fix in a short time, so i don't have one right now.Leave a comment:

Hello all,
I think I have found what is going to be a very common issue with this Lenovo model.
There is a plastic standoff on the bottom cover in the shape of a plus sign that is carving it's way into the board.
The result is the loss of clock and data lines to the battery and the unit intermittently charges and/or turns on.
See pics:
The white square at the inside corner of the board has a clear plus sign shaped abbrasion, and you can see the standoff on the rear cover just below and to the right.

HxD shows they are identical.

Hello,
Could someone please help me with the BIOS files for this model? There are two 16mb SPI chips, not sure which one is BIOS.
Could not find any similarity between data on the two chips and the .fd file I downloaded from the Acer website. Suspect the data is corrupt.
I have a couple of these models here doing the same thing. Board seems fine other than no response from power button.
Is anyone capable of extracting from the Acer website BIOS download file?

Thank you. Ran out of time on the original unit, but I have another 83D4 here with similar issue.
I copied DMI into this file and flashed. Unit booted right up.

Hello all,
Customer says this laptop stopped working after a failed BIOS update.
I tried the file in post #4, but I only get black screen.
Tried merging ME and BIOS regions from Lenovo download with my file, but stuck at 100ma and no display.
