  • Re: Sony XBR-65X930D No screen

Have you tried to disconnect the 2 ribbons from main board to tcon and power it on,
Make sure the disconnected ribbons end connectors are not touching anything and power it on.
Do you get the color bar factory test screen?
I am not sure if your model will do this, I am trying to fix a 4 red led flash code on 55x900e
When I disconnect mine, the screen will show color bars like factory testing on the screen,
Kind of help me telling me if at least the backlight or the display panel have any potential issues.

rotary tools, make sure is sharp and cut small amount at the time. Need to find the right speed and force.
Too fast too much, you can melted the diffuser instead of cutting.

    Here are the only downside
After cutting the bottom, removing the melted brown area, the diffuser is a little shorter at top.
There is a small gap, so you can see a little whiter on top, light leaks out
So next time, I know, I will put white tape so light can't leak out.
Didn't want to remove the panel again,...

Samsung uses bottom edge for the led back lights, specially the NU mu models. The worst parts, if led failed or burnt, diffuser might be melted or cracked.
I just finished replacing on 50NU Samsung burnt one side led backlight. Melted diffuser. Had to cut the melted area and turn the white back paper 180 as there some brown burnt area.
At first I cut only the melted area. Put everything back, not good. Tv would have white spots areas at the bottom where the light passes through the cut area. Forgot to take pic....

If you have the same issue I have, try to tape this pin on the right side C shape ribbon
    Here is the pics
I used the test point CLR to find the ribbon pin and covered with clear tape
    So now image looks better...

  • Re: Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line

    Yeah
I am still learning to figure it out, if main board or panel. But I don’t want to spend $150 for used board then finding out still have the same problem.
The way I am thinking, if it is the main board the problem, won’t the ghosting or lines on the image will be more larger area instead of just 1 line after I taped the right side CLR pin
I guess I will have to read more how is the tv produce horizontal lines or images or refresh it.

  • Re: Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line

    Oh sorry guys
    mistake
i took again where I taped at the end. I taped on the C shape ribbon right side, it is the CLR pin.
I image is much better as you can see on both 2nd and 3rd picture. but there is a line across
and that line is not just black or white, it changes color according to image

I am guessing it is the panel itself right? any suggestion on what to check

  • Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line

    Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

  • Re: Post your Samsung NU model series backlight failures and diffuser melt-downs here

I see you tried to shift the LED from the melted spot. that is great tip
but instead of doing the cutting the new LED strip why dont just order different length.
I am saying this is because I just started to fix tv as hobby and I got 2 49 inches samsung professional display with burnt LED
I opened one up just to makes sure the LED part number so I ordered them
but like most of you guys have the same issue. melted diffuser.
while waiting for the new LED. I just...

  • Re: Samsung QLED QN70Q6DTAF Dead 2 blinks Flashing Backlight

I am working with this tv too.
have you tired to just cover the clock signal or you had to cover others too?
    measure voltage too.
    VGH should be 24v

I use the C shape bottom ribbon cable to separate the left or right side panel.
use the test point on the bottom boards to find the Clock signal on the C shape ribbon cables and I tape it there instead of the single ribbon from the main board.

I know the more pin you covered the worst the image.
    I was able to cover...
