DELL Inspiron 3477 AIO
by Sraros
Hello,
I post this in this section for a Dell Inspiron 3477 All in one as the motherboard is more close to a laptop one.
So, the issue is that whatever adapter I use, I get this screen when it starts up. I tried aftermarket adapters and original HP adapters, both 65W and 90W. Minimum requirement is 65W.
I don't have its authentic Dell adapter as I took it for free in case I manage to repair it, but the HP ones I think are pretty much identical.

First thing I checked is if the dc jack on the board has an issue but with the MM I see all three pins, ground, 19.5V and...

I want to dim light bulb by 50% I want to learn how to calculate it on my own
by Omron
I have a 5W lamp on 12Volts battery, I want it to be half as bright, so I will add a resistor. What resistor should I supply?

A = W = 5 = 0.416mA
_ _
V 12

R = V = 12 = 28.84 Ohms (R) this is resistance of lamp
_ _____
I 0.416

So I will add one resistor 28.84 Ohms

I will have 28.84 + 28.84 = 57.6 Ohms

Or 28.84 + 28.84 = 14.42 Ohms

I don't know if it will work in series or in parallel
voltage would be 6V and amp current mA = 0.208mA We divide everything by two

W= V * I...

Steelshock 4 v2 controller
by Péter Fodor
I have got an Steeldigi Steelshock 4 v2 controller won't draw any amp from outlet.
I have disassembled and removed the battery. I have tied to measure some points. The usb connector shows 5 volts. There are test points and shows 5 volts everywhere it should. The battery connector in diode mode shows 0.009v is it ok?

There is an U4 chip place, but no chip, between the battery connector and the charging port.

How should I progress to identify the problem?

Can anyone help me with this?...

Disable faulty soldered RAM on Acer A315-22
by mat2k
Hello, I've been googling for some pointers on this but couldn't find anything that applies to this board. I have an Acer A315-22 (board NB8607) with faulty RAM between 142 and 174mb. I just wanted to disable the onboard RAM altogether, but this one doesn't seem to have any memory down ID resistors or strap in order to disable it. I'm attaching the schematic I found, the boardview for it also seems to be available somewhere in this forum but I still don't have a use for it lol.
How would I disable the RAM on this PC? Thanks for the help.

Identifying component Flyback? DC-DC?
by unimatrix93
Can I ask you guys help me identify this godforsaken component?

I'm tearing my hair out finding this component.

The board is from an egg incubator.
i got it with a "popped cap" while there are many damaged components on it, which got succesfully identified with one exception:

And here is the board where it came from (U1/1):

Anyone know how to take apart a Fluke T100 Voltage Tester without damaging it?
by cheeky2
See attached picture. I have a Fluke T100 Voltage Tester that the resistance and diode measurement isn't working (it's not the batteries (as I have already checked them and put decent Duracell 1.5V AAA batteries inside it).
I have looked on the web for any information and on youtube without any results for this model.
There are no screws visible or anything obvious. So I am hoping someone here has the solution to take it apart?
The only way I can see is underneath the yellow rubber handle area, however I don't wish to damage it if it isn't the case!...

[RoG Ally] Fault in one of the onboard RAM chips. Any way to diagnose which?
by Prott
Hello dear badcappers!

The title pretty much says it all - do you, please, know if there's any way to troubleshoot which of the integrated RAM chips (LPDDR5X in this case) is faulty?

Backstory:
After replacing the 4 onboard (soldered) memory chips on a RoG Ally (4x4 GB to 4x8 GB) it got stuck on the RoG logo. I assume one of the chips is either not soldered properly or faulty. However after reflowing and replacing bunch of them I am still stuck at the same place.

If there is a way to narrow down which memory module is faulty it would make my...

So I have this ASUS K52JK which cpu overheats seconds after power on even while idling at the bios menu. The laptop works although it does throttle the cpu.
