Lenovo C340-14iml - Disable On Board Memory?
I had one blown memory chip (out of 4) the laptop would not work even with a ddr4 module.
I had the on board memory disabled though a custom bios and the laptop was working fine, problem is as soon as the bios get updated I have to do it all over again.
So I need your help on how to disabled the memory at the hardware level, I ve already removed the memory chips and the resistors/capacitors around them but it still won't work without the custom bios.
What else do I need to remove?

Lenovo U1 tool issue
After using the tool to enter the product name for my laptop, the Lenovo startup logo has been changed to a "Xiaoxin" logo.
How do I revert this back?...

I ve found 2 numbers on the package, for some reason they were taken of the board:

PN: 5B20R27416...

Just got a replacement board for this laptop.
I have 2 issues and I don't know if they are related, the laptop does work but the bios seems to be corrupted and the fan doesn't spin.
Could you please have a look at the bios and tell me what's wrong?...

Never mind, just found that the cpu is shorted too, I didn't have a proper ground and got a wrong reading on the cpu....

I think I have a dead GPU on the board (reading 0 ohm)
Is there a way to deactivate the GPU so I can rely on the iGPU to power up the laptop?
I ve already lifted the 3 coils feeding the GPU, isn't that enough?
Right now the laptop starts then shutdown.

Thanks
PS: Please let me know if anything is wrong with my bios....

Only thing heating up is the PCH, not even hot but still...
It's over?...

The downstream side I guess (the side on the right, toward the ddr slot)...

Lenovo 17IIl05 NM-D031 Shorted 1.8 rail
Resistance at all the coils seem fine except for the 1.8V coil (PL9800) which reads 0 ohm.
The 3.3V coil has also a very low resistance of 11 ohm, after trying to disconnect some components and isolate the problem it appears that the problem comes from +3VALW_PCH (unsoldered the PJ4602 bridge).
I have little hope but I am a beginner so I would like your advice before considering the motherboard dead.

Board number: LA-F401P Rev 2.0
Service Tag: 2Q8D5S2
MAC address: E7.B9.7A.65.6F.A7 (the one on the motherboard)
Everything working fine except for the wired network (Intel I219-LM), NIC detected but can't start (error code 10 in windows), not working in Linux either.
Help appreciated....

UC4 was indeed shorted, after removing it and bridging pin 4 and 5 the screen is working, stuck at full brightness until I receive a new chip.
Thanks for your help....

Yes according to the boardview it's a 100k resistance, I removed it, check the resistance and it was fine, 100K, and of course the short was still there.
Next I removed UC4 and the short on the line was gone.
With the chip removed I was not worried of damaging the cpu anymore so I bridged pin 4 and pin 5, now the screen is working but as expected it's at 100% brightness and moving the slider in windows doesn't do anything, I ll have to order the chip.
Thanks for your help 👍...

Same resistance on both side with screen connected or disconnected.
The only other thing on the INVT_PWM line is RV6.
Should I desolder it and check again the resistance to the ground on the line?
Is there another way to check if either UC4 or RV6 is the one shorted?
Voltage injection on this line?...

I don't have that.
But I connect it to a monitor using the hmdi, booted windows and changed the brightness to 50%
INVT_PWM went from 0.126 to 0.024V.
Tell me if I am wrong but it seems to me like UC4 is supposed to use the signal at pin 2 from the cpu to modulate the 3.3V at pin 5.
Instead of that I have the same voltage at pin 2 and pin 4. This is why I was suspecting that UC4 is dead:
Resistance to the ground of UC4:
Pin 2 = 75K ohm
Pin 5 = 3.6K ohm
Pin 4 = 2.8 ohm
Is there any risk to damage something...

What is the matrix?
I have 0.126v at pin 2, same thing than pin 4.
I checked the resistance to the ground of UC4:
Pin 2 = 75K ohm
Pin 5 = 3.6K ohm
Pin 4 = 2.8 ohm
Shorted?...
