Hello BadCaps Forum! I'm new to the group and hope you guys can help me with something. I have a 2017 Apple imac A1419 board # 820-00609-A that i'm trying to identify a capacitor failure on. The capacitor is a tantalum 68 C79. See pic attached. I've tried to figure this out using the web and unfortunately can't find the information. Hi I have a touch screen monitor. It work fine for many years, but now It shows its age!
When I turn on the monitor, white lines appear on the display. They jump for a few seconds and then the display goes off.
Can you give me some pointers on where to start with the diagnostics.
There was a trail of dried light brown liquid on the board that the display connects to, as if a capacitor had leaked, but I couldn't find one. I cleaned the circuit board and resoldered the legs where this liquid was, but to no avail....

Hi there,
I have a Mac on the bench that wouldn't turn on, it didn't have PPBUS_G3H voltage.
I replaced the IC U7000, ISL6259 and the green light came on, the cooler turned on and showed the video, but I noticed that PPBUS_G3H is at 9.45V and the U7000 is heating up a lot.
I took resistance measurements for the earth and did not find a short circuit.
I measured the resistors connected to the U7000 and found no different value.
I searched the Forum and didn't find anything like this.
Can anyone give me any advice about this problem?

I can't seem to flash a new BIOS normally with the .exe file provided by Lenovo, so I'm looking for help. Every time I try I get an error message that reads "New BIOS region (1000000h) does not match with current (C00000h)"

I've extracted the .bin files from both the UB1/UB2 chip (8MB) and also from the UB3 chip (16MB) using a flash programmer although I am not sure if both need to be flashed or just one. Can I get help getting working .bin files from the latest BIOS version for each chip respectively to see if that works? I've extracted the bios.fd file myself and then...

I have had this TV many years without fault, however aprox 6 months ago I fitted a new set of backlights as some of the lens caps had fallen off.

Was working fine, until 3 days ago, when watching TV the screen just went blank (still illuminated)

Have 19v in fine until it hits PU4403 - not shorts I can see and thermal cam reveals nothing.

I have swapped out the ISL9538 and also the two mosfets (PU4403 and PU4405). Have 2.8v at the power switch, which pulls low when pressed - charging light comes on and goes straight off

Symptoms:
- Blue LED constantly blinking when connected to AC.
- Only sigh of life is beeping when touching the capactive buttons on the front.

Diagnostics so far:
Checked the PSU output voltages:
12V present
5V present altought its only around 4.2V
3V is present measured 3.4V.

I check TP 202 which is for the short circuit protection: 0.606V on diode mode

First of all i haven't found the board number other then FLESSY2 G4227A A4227A etched under the DC in connector...

The problem is laptop does not charge the battery...Laptop works on battery and work on charger, but doesn't charge the battery... when off, it pulls 0.13A ,when turned on it pulls around 0.500A and has spikes 0.6-0.8 A when booting, i found that ISL9238H is the charging regulator and i replaced it with ISL 9538H and it's all the same...i checked all the passive components and all seem to be ok...

Anyone have an idea what to look for next? The battery...

Got a TH-55FX600 that is showing no signs of life.

Outputs from the P board look good, but no 12V on the A board.

I've got a Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 15IMH05 with a black screen issue. I've tried a BIOS file which i saw in another post and changed some things in a Hex editor.
So i transfered the DMI info from my original BIOS to the one i got from the post. Flashed it to the chip and the laptop was booting again but very slow post.

After a couple of boots it went back to black screen again. Tried to flash the same BIN file on it which i used before but its staying at the black screen now unfortunately.

I have one strange issue with Macbook Pro 13" A1706 (touch bar) 4 TB ports
Issue is that all 4 ports are working but on one port only one side (when i rotate connector 180 degree there is nothing (ampmeter is not turned on at all) and charger (original apple) is put to protective mode, I have to unplug USB from the power brick to enable it again.

I've tried multiple USB-C ports (one one side all ports all sides work when i reconnect it to other side both ports work but one only on one side)

Hello, Basically a customer tried updating his mini PC using a USB stick but it bricked the computer. I've tried flashing a new chip with a CH318A programmer using neoprogrammer and a ROM file from minisforum's website. From what I have read on the forum here, there isn't a readily available guide on how to serialize an existing bios to the motherboard. I have a dump from the original BIOS chip, I did an additional one and did the fc /b command to make sure no discrepancies were found. Hello, I have a bricked Eluktro laptop, can't seem to find a bios dump. I would like to have the ME cleaned please. The bios download from the Clevo repo has a file with a ".12" extension that is the same file size as the original bios but it is "configured" as opposed to "initialized" according to ME analyzer. I tried it and the laptop still did not boot.
Can anyone help me clean ME or repair this bios please? I attached both files....

Started with a surface pro 5 repair with battery not fully disconnected and ended with dead touch. Tested with a new touch module and new cable and there still is no touch.
Measured touch power rails 1v8 and 5v, both are present.

From schematics and boardview it seems like everything happens over SPI, the i2c is NC
The MOSI goes directly to the CPU through a 10ohm resistor
MISO also goes to CPU through a 10 ohm resistor but also goes through some buffer/level converter chip (VC125) for SPI sniff im guessing for panel brightness level.

Hi,
this system has mainboard HT-DB120/THA25.
Display working and also i can switch modes, but there
is no audio.
I noticed that resistor R100 is heating up.
I found wiring in attach, but there is diferences.
1. In this wiring 1st pin of resistor is attached to diode bridge and
second pin is attached to Collector of PQ5. On PCB is not the same.
2. Resistor R100 is labaled as 10ohm, but it is 22ohm. Even colour
code (red, red, black, gold) show 22 ohm.
3. Emitter of PQ5 must go to PIC4 (7812), but this also is not true.
So, it seems...
