The laptop is CLEVO N970TF with i5-9400, RTX2070, i haven't disassembled it yet to know what is the board number, i will update that later, but the issue is laptop turns on normally and works for about 2 minutes, then both fans turn on to the max and in 30 seconds laptop shuts down! Nothing is warm or even close to overheating...
i manage to get linux up and running and monitor the temperatures from all sensors, and the peak one is 51 celsius from a cpu cores...
So something is acting up and thinks the laptop is overheating? How to foul the board into thinking everything...
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Win 11 doesn't work, i had to use a win10 laptop to extract it...
And i solved the issue, the issue was a bad chip...i salvaged a different one ,flashed it and all was good...i got the manufacturer mode active, turned that off, inputed the information and all is good...interesting , the old chip flashed succesfully but the bios was in recovery mode and tried searching for USB with bios update every time i powered the laptop, and flashed the bios again and again in loop, that's when i figured the chip was bad...

Thank you, but believe it or not, i was trying to extract it from exe, but it won't do it, can't find the dump in the temp folder, can't extract with winrar...i try to read the forum always before posting questions, and i saw this post that you pasted...that's why i asked for help...

I also got this laptop and after the firmware update from windows board gives 5 long and 3 short blinks...I tried a flash from this site and it works, but it needs 30 seconds to boot and it asks for a bios recovery ,and when i do the recovery from USB it goes to black screen again, but this time no blink codes...
i have the original dump from the chip, can anyone fix it?...

Yeah i did all that...all voltages present,no shorts...i went through the standard procedure....
the issue is solved finnaly...it was the charger ... i got them without chargers, and i had only 45W for testing , and this board needs 65W... what a noob

So i have a few of this laptops with the same problem...i connect the charger and the white light goes on for 2 seconds and amber blinks 3 times and that's it...power connector has 2.2V, i have 5.4V and 3.37V...i get 3.3V on bios chip when cable connected , but not when i press power button...all seems to be fine, but it won't start... and i have 7 of them with same problem
Pin 42 = ADP_A_ID is 1.6V
Pin 44 = OCP_A_IN is 0V
can anyone help? i've donated to the site because it's always helpfull, so i am hopping to be helpfull now also

I have the same board, dead as a door knob, i get 20V on the Board, but no 3.3V or 5V, on the PU9 which is RT6575DGQW i have some voltages comming out of the chip, 2.4V and 4.5V,dunno what pins exactly, it was late and i did a quick measeurement, but not getting the correct outputs probably, no shorts anywehre on the board, so if i change the RT6575DGQW i am good to go?I have the same board, dead as a door knob, i get 20V on the Board, but no 3.3V or 5V, on the PU9 which is RT6575DGQW i have some voltages comming out of the chip, 2.4V and 4.5V,dunno what pins exactly, it was late and i did

So i figured... i don't get the pgd signals obviously...so i am missing a voltage?I don't know how to read the startup sequence from the image few posts above , can anyone explain? There are no shorts on the board, except low resistance (5 Ohm) on the +VCC_core,but i injected 1V, and get 200mA draw...so no short......

PWR_GOOD_3 on PU5 is low...0V,so that is ok?i don't know what else to try...i tried a few dumps, no change...

Sorry for lifting an old thread, but i have simmilar issues with this board, when i plug the charger, the LED on the charger goes white and at the same time 4 time amber blinks while white is glowing , also poweer button is white for that time and then it goes off...i have 3.3V and 5V, PU12 =1.8V, and 2.2V at the power button...and that's it...the board doesn't turn on,2.2V goes of when put to ground,KBC gets that signal, adapter signal is present on the KBC, what else to look for? Can anyone explain how to read the power on sequence? Signals like PWR_GOOD_3 should be low or high?...

I knew no one will understand and say replace the keyboard the power button works fine, all the buttons do, it's not stuck, something else is wrong.button reacts to pressing and it turns on the laptop, turns it off normally, but tou have to have another button pressed on keyboard...i tried measuring pins on motherboard,3.3V on pin, when i press power it goes to gnd, when release it's back to 3.3v so it's not stuck...i am just curious is it a motherboard issue or a keyboard, probably keyboard, but why does it happen....and that's third or forth laptop that i came in contact with the same issue...

Acer laptops and keyboards
I noticed in manny cases the following : You press the power button and laptop starts turning on and then goes off again, but if you press any key on the keyboard and hold it, the laptop stays on and works fine! The power button works, any other button works , but one button must always be on!
Has anyone else notice that? I was meaning to write about this topic a few times already , but never got to it, and today i got Aspire A315-42 with i5 10th gen. and it has the same issue and i got mad and now i am writing about it!
If you hold any button on the keyboard the laptop...

Sorry guys but i don't get it... if the resistors have to be in 0010 configuration does that mean that RC44, RC41 and RC46 have to be removed, and RC38 soldered?1 Photo

Re: Lenovo T590 bios
i found something odd in the schematics...
on VCC, pin 8, there is a diode ,before diode there is 3.3V,after diode 1.5V on the VCC pin, so the diode is bad, i shorted it and now i get the 3.3V on VCC, but symptoms are the same, it still doesn't work...could the chip itself be damaged?Because the erasure and blank check and programming and verify goes all ok...i got the error first time i deleted the chip something about the erasure control and registry bits....i forgot what it was, i just pressed ok......

Re: LENOVO T590 not turning on
So to continue from thread in bios requests...
no shorts, all the voltages start...but i have a peculiar reading of 0.845V on the PL0909, PL0904,pl0902, but it seemes that is ok...i couldn't find the voltage needed on those coils...but there is some, and it's not shorted...
the board isn't water damaged, the owner said it turned it off in the evening, and in the mornning it wouldn't start anymore...
tried a few dumps from this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1252718#post1252718...

Re: Lenovo T590 bios
but i did download it with 1.8V adapter, i am sorry i didn't do a chip detection to see what neo programmer sees... i know that it needs at least 2.7V to read 3.3V chip, but somehow it did it...and i tried to compare dumps in hex editor and same chip, different data...one read with 1.8V, other with 3.3V...
I tried the dump you posted, it's like all the others, it doesn't work, it's always the same... keyboard light, power light, fan spin for a second an that's all...i am thinking there is something else wrong...i disconnected everything...
