Is it possible that M1 is dead ?
I'm checking values from : https://repair.wiki/w/MacBook_Air_A2...a_at_5V_repair- Check for shorts to ground on outputs of U8100 and U7701: How to find short circuits
- L8100 / L8101 / L8102 (PPVDD_PCPU_AWAKE) (Figure 1) - Normal diode mode to ground reading ~0.007 / ~45Ω (Resistance)
- L82B0 / L82B1 (PPVDD_ECPU_AWAKE) - Normal diode mode to ground reading ~0.114 / 140Ω (Resistance)
- L8270 / L8271(PPVDD_CPU_SRAM_AWAKE) - Normal diode mode to ground reading ~ 0.116 / 450Ω (Resistance)
- L8120

I tried to replace CD3217 3x and it's still doing the same (restarting) I also replaced U0500 as it's the only thing pulsing but also it's still the same and there is still hotspot on U0500
I've checked diode mode on U0500 and they're all looking ok
PP1V8_AWAKE - 0.319
I2C_SEEPROM_SCL - 0.323
I2C_SEEPROM_SDA - 0.323
P1V25_AWAKE_IO - 0.263Leave a comment:

yes when power is connected and testing on test point next to RC333 there is 1.8V
I just noticed strange thing.
When power is connected to bottom (DFU port) here it's restarting ampmeter and here I have 1.8V on PP5S2_EN
but when I connect power to the other port there is 0V on PP5S2_EN and ampmeter is not restarting...Last edited by obelix24; 11-07-2025, 08:15 AM.Leave a comment:

Macbook Air M1 a2337 - 820-02016
I'm working on Macbook air a2337
It's stuck on 5V.
I've replaced both CD3217B12 IC's and U8100
When i connect USB-C ampmeter i'm getting 5V 0.01 - 0.4a and restart ampmeter and again ....
I tried to connect to another mac and i'm not able to get it to DFU.
history is that this macbook just died randomly and owner was not able to start it again.
PPBUS_AON is 12.3V
i'm missing PP5V_S2 - 0V
According to repair wiki i've checked https://repair.wiki/w/MacBook_Air_A2...current_draw_c... -

Is it not possible that the macbook is in recovery screen and as it's touch bar i don't know how to switch screen to external (shortcut CMD + F1 is not possible here as touch bar haven't lid up during this first screen)
i tried to connect windows USB keyboard but i don't know the combination to switch screen.
does anyone know how to switch screen on touch bar macbook without internal screen.Leave a comment:

external screen was working as there was burned pin under CPU.
Now there is no output to external screen (i tried restore, revive in DFU mode) also Restore in Recovery mode was finished successfully, but still no output to external screen.
Also Capslock is not green if i press it, nothing on touch bar, only trackpad response.
In apple controller if i try right click on pad lock / quick look it shows booted but storrage it still Loading. (but i guess this shouldn't be problem as if there will be any problem with SSD chips restore, revive will not finish)
I...Last edited by obelix24; 05-12-2025, 05:58 AM.Leave a comment:

OK i found same motherboard a1989 and i have transfered all 4 ssd chips (to exactly same location)
Now when i connect a1989 to other macbook i'm able to restore it via apple configurator (it will finish with padlock in apple configurator)
but there is nothing on external screen (trackad is responding so T2 is alive) also nothing obvious is getting warm.
When i try to Revive it's also successfully done (it finish with padlock on apple configurator) but again there is nothing on external screen.
This macbook was working fine on external screen (as internal...Leave a comment:

A1989 - replace SSD
I have one A1989 that have not internal LCD (there was water damage on LCD connector) but macbook itself was working fine.
After some time it stoped working and starts in Recovery mode. When i try to restore in DFU it always fails with error : AMRestoreErrorDomain error 75 - Failed to handle message type StatusMsg (Missing data volume))
Is it possible to just swap SSD from some other macbook ? (or it have some dependecies ? A1989 only, some special possition from donor to correct possition on my macbook ? or i can take any SSD chips from any other macbook (with T2) and put... -
I found that IC for temperature should be probably U5823
is it correct ? Is it most probably the cause of full fan ?Last edited by obelix24; 05-08-2025, 07:08 AM.Leave a comment:

they all looks ok.
I noticed one this when i put everything back to case macbook doesn't turn on as before ....
I've returned original U5000 (the other one i've used from donor a1466 - same numbers) during replacing i probably damaged X29 as now macbook turns on but fans are on full speed.
Is this connected to Q6060 ?
But there is still no light on charger ... I was thinking if it's not caused but not original battery but i don't think as the light is not there even if battery is not connected and it should be there.Leave a comment:
