A1706 - Macbook pro - one USB-C port only 20V 0A
I just got in my hands one Macbook pro A1706. It was originally not turning on (only 5V 0,2a on all ports (and 3 ports were restarting ampmeter when connected)
I've replaced one CD3215C00 IC and now macbook is fully working (20V and charging fine)
There is only 1 issue that one USB-C port is taking 20V but 0A (after replacing CD3215 it was fully working and i was charging macbook on this port) but then it just turns off (ampmeter) and started with only 20V 0A.
There were some broken pads under CD3215 but i've recreated them.
What should be...

This are meassurements from other side (where are two ports) that work both sides...

Macbook Pro 13" A1706
I have one strange issue with Macbook Pro 13" A1706 (touch bar) 4 TB ports
Issue is that all 4 ports are working but on one port only one side (when i rotate connector 180 degree there is nothing (ampmeter is not turned on at all) and charger (original apple) is put to protective mode, I have to unplug USB from the power brick to enable it again.
I've tried multiple USB-C ports (one one side all ports all sides work when i reconnect it to other side both ports work but one only on one side)
There is no issue problem on the board (no liquid damage, no damaged...

In Diode mode (red on ground black on pin :
PIN1 : 0.624
PIN2 : 0.435

Macbook A1534 820-00244 - 5V 0,2A
Hi All,
i got one Macbook a1534 boardnumber 820-00244 that is taking only 5V 0,2A
I've tried to replace 3x CD3215B01 chip but it's still behaving same ....
On the board there was blown L4804 so i've replaced it.
when power is connected 5V 0,2A
PPBUS_G3H - 0V
PP20V_USBC_XA_VBUS_F - 5V
I've tried to remove F7040 as mentioned here

battery health is : 87%
Cycle count : 440
Condition : Normal
in app stats (from GitHub) it's showing health 81%
I don't have any other battery to test I expect this one is good.
I've checked with thermal camera when MacBook was turned off and there was only one spot near U7700 that was warmer ... It looks like it was one of the diodes
I've checked diode mode on near caps C746, 745, 744 and the result was 0,03V (battery connected)
But when I turned on MacBook and checked voltage there it was normal 1,06V (PP1V06_S2SW_DRA...

Macbook Air a1932 (820-01521) 20V 0.1-0.2A
I got one Macbook Air a1932, when i connect charger it takes 20V and 0.1 - 0.2A.
Trackpad is clicking (this means T2 is ok ???)
I can put macbook to DFU and revive, restore via Apple Configurator.
Problem is that there is nothing displayed, no chime, no caps lock light and it looks like is not turning on (as even with battery connected it's still only between 0.1 - 0.2A)
I've tried connecting to external monitor and also no output ...
I'm not able to find anything what can cause this ... I've tried to replace U8110 but still the same behavior...

check if the connector on motherboard where you connect audio board is ok. I have this issue on other macbook connector where audio board flex was connecting wasn't making good contact on one side (with naked eye it wasn't visible but under microscope it was clear that the issue is there) and therefore i was able to see speakers, increase / decrease audio, audio via headphone jack was working but internal speakers where not outputting any sound.

ok so audio issue was fixed connector (J6799) on motherboard was broken on one side and wasn't doing good connection. I've replaced it (hot air from bottom on donor board to remove it) and on actual board i've scraped it with soldering iron, cleaned pads and then with hot air it was much faster to solder it back to place ok so audio issue was fixed connector (J6799) on motherboard was broken on one side and wasn't doing good connection. OK i've found that in right speaker connector there was small piece o wire and this was shorting few pins together, after removal left speaker was working but the right there was no sound. I've replaced right speaker and when i started macbook i got sound from both spekers ...
I was hapy that everything is working, but then i turned off macbook and when i turned it on again there was no sound I tried to reinstall MacOS if it's not just some weird configuration but the sound is still not working....

OK finaly i got it
problem was that PP5V1_S4SW_CC1 was shorted to ground I was checking via diode mode on J4700 PIN52 and the reading was 0,003V
It looks like the trace was going only to U7860 but even with this IC removed short was still there. I've soldered little wire to pin 3 (U7860) and injected 0,9V it was taking only 0,3A and nothing showing on this side of the board, i've flipped the board and U4700 was getting hot after removing this short was gone I've soldered new U4700 and checked diode reading PP5V1_S4SW_CC1...Last edited by obelix24; 03-11-2024, 05:56 AM.

ok after some time i've returned to this board.
I noticed that there was cracked IC U8310 (there was missing corner where PANEL_P3V3_EN is but macbook was working even with this - strange) i've replaced it.
I've connected official 61W USB-C charger with ampmeter and i was surprised that macbook was taking 19V and charging battery fine. When i turned cable 180 degrees there was nothing ampmeter was not turned on at all. I've tried also 15V (nintendo switch charger as i don;t have official 29/30W from apple) but this should be fine ... also only one side...

I found one thing i've disconnected Trackpad flex cable from motherboard but everything else stay connected (except keyboard backlight) macbook started and there was logon screen but keyboard was not working at all (even it was connected). When i connect trackpad flex keyboard was working again.
Is this normal behavior ?...

I tried DFU few times but the problem is still the same
i've tried to replace UR200 from donor board but after replacemet macbook behaves strange ... backlight was off, when i go near power button with my finger backlight starts but the screen was turning on and off i immediately returned old UR200 and it's working fine (but still the same issues no camera detected and touch bar working after 3 min or after closing and reopening lid)
