i think this part will be not a problem i have few m1 pro and m2 pro, m1 (a2338) boards and other intel boards but i'm not able to source the PXM or PY3 part. I've checked boards and they hove something similar (near display connector) but after desoldering i noticed that other boards have always 8 pins (same as PXM) but last 2 pins on each side are connected, PXM or probably also PY3 have all 8 pins separated.Leave a comment:

I've checked both ports, both directions. Everything looks ok. I've replaced one CD3217 chip that was warming different and now it's taking 5V 0,4a.
I've checked with thermal camera and one part is getting hot (it have marking PXM) in total 8 connections (4 on each side). But I'm not able to source this part on any other MacBook board that I have (sadly I don't have other air board with silicon CPU)...Leave a comment:

There is nothing on thermal camera only cd3217 chip are getting little warm but it's normal. But as there is 0a there is no thermal spot. I've already tested fuses around cd chips and they're ok. I'm not able to locate any main fuse (something like f5200, ....)...Leave a comment:

I have one macbook air that is stuck on 5v 0a.
as there is no schematics availanle i'm little bit lost where to check. There is board view but it’s missing all information about traces and components. -

yes i've also checked boardviews are pi3usb32xxx is missing everywhere ... it looks like macbook will work without but only in USB 2.0 mode .... if there is someone that can help whhat that burned pins are i would appreciate it.Leave a comment:

On board view that I've found this IC missing. Does anyone know what these pins are ?... -
what error you get during installation from USB ? check in recovery (open terminal) what Date is set. I'd some issues with installation older macos due to frong date set.Leave a comment:

Macbook Pro 13" a1706 backlight repair issue
I've repaired few flexgate issues on a1706,1708 and i was always successfull. I used adding connection new part of backlight cable to old one. I've checked for shorts and there are no shorts between lines.
but on this one i have this situation. Backlight is working fine but here as you can see on picture backlight on bottom is too visible.... -

I tried to replace CD3217 3x and it's still doing the same (restarting) I also replaced U0500 as it's the only thing pulsing but also it's still the same and there is still hotspot on U0500
I've checked diode mode on U0500 and they're all looking ok
