    Surface Pro 5/6 Touch Issue

Started with a surface pro 5 repair with battery not fully disconnected and ended with dead touch. Tested with a new touch module and new cable and there still is no touch.
Measured touch power rails 1v8 and 5v, both are present.

From schematics and boardview it seems like everything happens over SPI, the i2c is NC
The MOSI goes directly to the CPU through a 10ohm resistor
MISO also goes to CPU through a 10 ohm resistor but also goes through some buffer/level converter chip (VC125) for SPI sniff im guessing for panel brightness level.
I do not have a scope, ive relaced vc125 still no touch. The conductive tape on the touch board is making good contact with metal of panel.

Is the SPI bus on the CPU blown?

Test each line of the SPI lines using diode mode.

    Remove all power (!)

Meter in diode mode. Red meter probe to ground.
Black meter probe to test point.

    Post each measurement.

MOSI and MISO both 0.556 with red on ground
      Looks good

Yes. Also check the SPI CS line which should also be present for this interface.

All lines were good, I ordered a second surface and killed the touch seemingly after removing the touch board. I kept the lcd fully connected and only unplugged the fpc after power was removed. When I tested it after disassembly it was working in UEFI, after removing touch board touch was dead again. Upon installing windows and updating all drivers touch reappeared. The original surface still has a touch issue. I did not get a chance to do a full windows reinstall. Im trying to figure out how to reinstall the firmware/bios and Ive read about the ME issue. Leaving me pretty confused.
