Question about electricity
by matk
Hello, I have a question about electricity. Suppose I'm well insulated from ground and neutral, and the live wire of mains comes in touch with a wound in my finger, will this potential interfere with body voltages, hearth for example, or it will only go to its circuit return path ?

Thanks!

How do I flash bios to an Alienware M16 R1 AMD edition?
by Arc717
I am trying to downgrade my bios on my Alienware so I can undervolt & overclock my CPU, and overclock my ram. I need to get to bios 1.2.2 for this. Dell doesn't allow downgrades, and their bios file is an exe compiled in c++, so I can't decompile it easily. I am wondering if I can flash the bios manually using a usb flasher. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, where the bios chip would be. I know flashers are pretty cheap and the bios chip is 8-pin. There are two of these chips only when I open the back panel of the laptop. I'm not sure if there are any on the other side of...

Quecoo T12-958 soldering station - INVER error?
by spleenharvester
I bought a T12-958 recently with an M8 handle and until now it has worked very well. The tip wasn't earthed but that was easily resolved.

Now, whenever it is switched on, it heats up to about 70*C then shows an [INVER] error on the screen and stops. In order to fix it I have to either unplug and re-plug the handle, or unplug and re-insert the tip from the handle. While doing that it changes to [ERROR], then it finishes heating up and works perfectly. Until it's turned off, after which it will show [INVER] again next time it is turned on.

Any idea what the problem is?

by Stanley1843
Hello to everyone.
My W26361-W84-X-02 motherboard starts but don't show image (no logo screen neither bios). Because, I have two of them I desoldered the bios chip from the no working motherboard and I soldered it to the working motherboard and the motherboard works OK, so the bios firmware isn't the problem. Below I took some measurements from the no working motherboard when is power on. Also, I replaced the RAM and didn't work again (maybe some pins from the RAM slot don't have the right voltage?). I replaced and the bios battery, and I made reset on the bios and again the problem...

Galaxy Buds FE SM-R400
by therealraffles
Hey all

I have a set of FE buds, the right side will not connect, I don’t believe it is even charging..I am able to connect and get audio through the left, the case appears to charge itself and the left correctly.

The left has ~1.3v between the pins, the right side has ~-0.7v ..

This is wonky, surely? My assumption would at least be the same charging voltage, even if the..

can someone confirm that the earbuds polarity is different?

I may try and inject 1.3v onto the charging pads of the right, if it will take even a little charge...

by FrozenHaxor
Hey, I'm repairing a board from liquid damaged laptop, managed to get 5V and 3.3V rails up, some passives were corroded away. Only problem right now is no reaction to power button, there is no PCH_PWR_EN signal, DPWROK_EC is 2.5V, +1.0VALW is missing. Replaced KBC with brand new one, reprogrammed. No change. Any ideas? Schematic and boardview are available, attached them at the bottom. Boardview file can be opened by "BoardViewer" software.

Please don't mind the damage near UC4, it was caused by liquid damage and there is battery connector on the other side,...

by sewsulle
Good afternoon,
I'd appreciate help diagnosing my A2442 that's only taking 5v and 0a

This was my personal laptop and I had closed it at the end of a class and opened it in the next class when it just didn't wake up from sleep (The battery was charged). I connected a charger later that night and it booted right up but touch ID stopped working. The next day it did the same thing but never turned back on when I plugged in a charger.

I though the touch ID issue was weird but I'm not sure if that info helps.

When this happened months ago I tried to diagnose...

Samsung QE82Q70RAT no backlight
by sansanpartida
Hi everyone!

Hope you're all having a great day, and thank you very much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post to help me with my parents' Samsung TV.

My issue: No backlight.

Model: QE82Q70RAT
Type No: QE82Q70RAT

The TV was already serviced by Samsung once under warranty for the exact same issue, but six months after the fix, the backlight went out again. Now, Samsung is asking for nearly the same price as a brand new TV to fix this with the same 6-month guarantee.

So hopefully, I can fix this cheaper.

ASUS proart Studiobook h7600ZW; Had DC in port replaced and all the sudden it isn't charging but is the charging sign is on!
by Scarfycake
Hi all,

I sent my ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED (H7600, 12th Gen Intel) to the local repair guys to have a very simple DC in port replaced. I sourced the part myself on accessoires-asus (french company) after struggling to find the right part in the UK. It looked completely the same to the installed part from what I can tell. Originally the only issue with the laptop was a bad / loose DC connection, and so the computer and battery acted completely normal aside from a very poor connection that would fail at certain angles. After the repair was completed I brought it home and used...
