    Galaxy Buds FE SM-R400

    Hey all

I have a set of FE buds, the right side will not connect, I don't believe it is even charging..I am able to connect and get audio through the left, the case appears to charge itself and the left correctly.

The left has ~1.3v between the pins, the right side has ~-0.7v ..

This is wonky, surely? My assumption would at least be the same charging voltage, even if the..

can someone confirm that the earbuds polarity is different?

I may try and inject 1.3v onto the charging pads of the right, if it will take even a little charge and connect..rules in the charging case circuit..

I have the case open, off to the bench shortly..

    🙏

Easy to take the case apart

Battery is charging fine in the case, battery seems good

Opens, shorts and diode junction voltage drops seem to match between the two sides. Aside the polarity

After checking all the caps and diodes I could make out, putting it back together again..I now have ~1v on the right, same ~1.3v on left..And bow the left ear bud won't register in the case to charge..

temperamental little things. charging the case fully again - if the ear buds ain't charging where is the power going? See how my patience is tomorrow

Got some patience and opened a bud..found the issue with the right bud🤣 got a lil wet it seems..

Will be back on the bench tomorrow. Will look for shorts on the board. The battery was at 3.2v so not being charged. Hopefully not the chips..
