by NootABootI created a supervisor password for my laptop a while back and I forgot it. It can't be reset by resetting CMOS. Can I extract it from a BIOS dump or through another method without a bios/eeprom programmer?

I bought a T12-958 recently with an M8 handle and until now it has worked very well. The tip wasn't earthed but that was easily resolved.
Now, whenever it is switched on, it heats up to about 70*C then shows an [INVER] error on the screen and stops. In order to fix it I have to either unplug and re-plug the handle, or unplug and re-insert the tip from the handle. While doing that it changes to [ERROR], then it finishes heating up and works perfectly. Until it's turned off, after which it will show [INVER] again next time it is turned on.
Any idea what the problem is?Today, 01:36 PM -
MSI MEG Godlike x570 motherboard - need schematic and boardview. I have accidentally plugged in the wrong usb plug into a usb3.0 connector on front panel of PC resulting in temporarily shorting out the port. (I know it was really stupid, It was dark in my room and was rushing). I shutdown the computer and now after an immediate restart I get an overcurrent error on boot up saying my PC will shut down in 15 seconds. If I let the computer sit for about 35 minutes, I then can boot the PC without getting error. What I am hoping to find out is what parts were affected by my stupidity. by iprotechStarted with a surface pro 5 repair with battery not fully disconnected and ended with dead touch. Tested with a new touch module and new cable and there still is no touch.
Measured touch power rails 1v8 and 5v, both are present.
From schematics and boardview it seems like everything happens over SPI, the i2c is NC
The MOSI goes directly to the CPU through a 10ohm resistor
MISO also goes to CPU through a 10 ohm resistor but also goes through some buffer/level converter chip (VC125) for SPI sniff im guessing for panel brightness level.
I do not have a scope,...05-01-2024, 12:54 PM -

by joekajoekaHello,
I have a Seasonic X660 from 2011 a very quiet and reliable PSU it worked great but in 2023 started that it wont turn on when the PC is sleeping, if I switch fast the power switch on the PSU than it would switch on and also the PC wakes up from the sleep.
If the PC is shut down normally than also the PSU starts normally every time.
(I checked the PSU on another PC with the same result for sure the PSU is faulty)
Has somebody a clue what is wrong in the PSU? has somebody repaired this fault for this exact PSU? I would like to repair this PSU.
Thank You!...6 Photos04-20-2024, 12:37 PM -

and another from ali-express that feels like i am going to break my micro controller putting it into the thing
any suggestions? (note that i am not spending $50 on a 3m board)04-29-2024, 08:50 AM -
by aaronkatriniHi all,
I was looking to upgrade my main multimeter (Asita MD591) with something that has more features. I'll use it mostly for board diagnostic and diy repairs. I've been eyeing out many of those multi-function ones from Aliexpress but can't seem to make my mind up. Here are the features that I'm looking after:
- Autorange
- DC volts up to 30V
- Accurate Resistance
- Diode test (Beep mode)
- Frequency up to 200MHz
- Capacitanze up to 5000uF
- as cheap as possible
Other functions are not needed but those which are needed...Today, 09:54 AM -

by smaniakThe laptop won't start. When plug power supply, on 19V in gives me 0,14A, without turning on the laptop.
I check it with thermal camera, and there is one resistor that is very hot, I change the resistor with new on but the result is the same.
In the attachment there is schematic of the resistor area, and schematic of the laptop.
I can't understand, why this resistor is getting so hot....Yesterday, 01:24 AM -
