Update: I found a chip of the s-5724 series which might be similar to the one I need. By looking at the datasheet maybe it's not a dual hall effect ic, but a single one with pin 4 as output and pin 1 (lid 360 line) as enable line.

component on Lenovo Yoga 7 14itl5 mic board
I need to replace a small smd component on the 5C50S25112 board (Right mic board) of a Lenovo yoga 7 14ITL5 with motherboard NM-D131.
I believe it's a Dual Hall effect ic, probably with SNT-4A package and is marked AV-9 as in the picture.
The pinout is probably ;
1 : lid_360 output
2 : GND
3 : 3.3V
4 : lid_0 output
Any idea what's the ic part number? Thanks in advance ...

They were in the 100K range and probably the 2 active low lines were kind of floating causing the random malfunction. You are right saying it was a weird issue because in my experience a resistor gets damaged (open or higher resistance value) when a high current flows through it and I can't imagine how this could happen on these two lines (maybe a previous repair attempt?). Anyway I am happy that everything works now....

Before selling the laptop for parts I decided to give it one more try. I checked the resistors around the BIOS chip and I found that the pullup resistors on the HOLD pin and on the WRITEENABLE pins had an abnormal resistance. After replacing them with one KOhm resistors the problem was solved 👍👍👍😎

I received and programmed the new 25Q128JV chip but the problem is still the same: pc boots and works fine, but after shutdown if restarted within few seconds from power off the laptop stops with the caps lock blinking 5 fast- 3 slow. After soft reset (power button pressed more than 6 seconds) the laptop starts and boots normally. A few times instead of the 5-3 blink the laptop showed a CMOS checksum error and asked to press enter to reset BIOS config : after reset the laptop boots fine. If I wait at least 10 seconds before restarting or resuming the laptop starts and boots fine.

I flashed and verified a new BIOS chip just arrived from China Winbond 25Q128FV . I replaced the original 25Q128JV with this chip, but the pc does not start (no fan and power led blinking). The difference between FV nd JV chips seems to by a slightly higher max frequency spec for JV's, but I doubt laptops work at such high frequency. Maybe the new chip is fake. Anyway I ordered new 25Q128JV and I will give it a try.

Update : Lidsw# works fine and reacts as expected when opening/closing lid.
I found a thing I've never noticed, but I don't know if it is relevant for the problem : when the system shuts down te 3.3V and the 5V remain on for about 6 seconds (more or less the time I have to wait to be sure that the restart will work Unfortunately while you can control to wait a while before restarting, you cannot control the timing of auto restart after Windows updates, Bios, updates and so on).
Anyway I tried to change the EC chip, and Ram again but same problem.
As the last shot...

hp Pavilion 14 CE-1XXX 5 fast 3 slow blinks or cmos checksum error if restarted immediately after shutdown or suspend
hp Pavilion 14 CE-1XXX
MB G7AD-2G DAG7ADMB8D0 REV D
Processor i5 8265U
AFAIK schematics or boardview are not available for this MB, but I used a similar board as a reference (G7AL-2G)
Laptop came in not booting with caps lock blinking 3 fast- 2 slow indicating RAM error. Charging works fine. Found bad soldering on the only ram socket present (2 outer left pins and 2 outer right pins).
Once soldered the laptop started fine and I was able to install Windows 11, upgrade BIOS to version F30 from Windows without a problem, BUT I found a strange and annoying...

Need to copy DMI info for HP ProBook 650 G2 Bios
UPDATE of JANUARY 5th : I am cancelling this post because problem has been solved by creating a new bios starting from the old one with correct dmi and cleaning ME. everything works fine . thanks anyway
Hi, I am replacing a motherboard circus-6050A2723701-MB-A02 to an HP 650 G2 laptop because the original one was faulty. I bought and repaired a used MB which works fine now with its BIOS, but I wanted to copy the DMI data from the old to the new MB. I created with Flash Image Tool a new bios starting from the old original chip , cleaned ME region and new updated dump region extracted...

Re: Asus PU551LA cannot restart after shutdown
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried removing the wifi card, but still same problem.
Before trying to desolder other chips I want to give it a try to order and replace the ec controller with a IT8585E FXA (like the original one) because I used a IT8585E FXS I had in stock. I could not find any official information about FXS and FXA chips apart one of your previous posts stating that FXA stands for "always" and FXS stands for "suspend". Do you have more info on the subject?...

Asus PU551LA cannot restart after shutdown
Motherboard PU551LA Ver 2 with Intel i5 4210U
I bought the motherboard as faulty to replace a similar one not repairable because it was completely shorted.
3V EC was shorted to ground because of EC chip. IT8585E FXA replaced with IT8585E FXS. Motherboard now works and I am able to recharge the battery, install Windows and update BIOS from Ver 207 to 210 with EZ Flash, but it has the following problem: Every time I power off the laptop with power switch or with Windows shutdown the laptop apparently turns off, but the power LED remains on and it's not possible to restart the laptop....

Re: Asus P2520L starts and stops ok but no display
Sorry for late reply, but I've been away a few days.
there are 2 ram slots, no soldered ram. I'v tried 2 different ram modules in both slots.
PCH_DPWROK = 3.3V
ME_AC_PRESENT = 3.3V
+1_05VM_PWRGD =1.63V (+1_05VM = 1.06V)
1_35V_PWRGD =3.4V
3VA_DSW_PWRGD =3.4V
ALL_SYSTEM_PWRGD =3.36V
VCCST_PWRGD = 1.04V
+3VSUS_PWRGD = 3.38V
+5VSUS_PWRGD = 3.44V
+1_05VS_PWRGD =3.3V
CORE_PWRGD = 3.3V (VCCIN = 1.65V)
I don't know if +1_05VM_PWRGD...

Asus P2520L starts and stops ok but no display
Model Asus P2520L
MB P552LA_LJ Rev 2.1 with soldered I3 5010U processor
The laptop charges battery and seem to react to power on, power off, reset regularly, but nothing appears on screen or HDMI or VGA monitor.
Same behaviour when running on battery only, on mains only or on both.
Battery charges fine. RTC battery ok at 3.025V.
When powered on the power on led lits, after a short while the HDD led flashes, but no video. All voltages seem present. ALL_SYSTEM_PWRGD is present, BUFF_PLT_RST# goes high. CPU warms up and fan starts and stop from time to time....

Re: Bios password remove Panasonic Toughbook CF 53
I have a CF-53D mk1 with BIOS password set. I need to get rid of it so I dumped the BIOS (attached) to clear the password . Unfortunately based on other examples I was expecting 2 recourrences of the string AMITSESetup, but I found 4 of them. 3 have the password field filled. Should I remove all 3 of them? The password also appears in many other places in the dump, but without the AMITSESetup header.
Could you please suggest how to procede or send me the file unlocked? thanks in advance...
