    I want to dim light bulb by 50% I want to learn how to calculate it on my own
    by Omron
    I have a 5W lamp on 12Volts battery, I want it to be half as bright, so I will add a resistor. What resistor should I supply?

    A = W = 5 = 0.416mA
    _ _
    V 12

    R = V = 12 = 28.84 Ohms (R) this is resistance of lamp
    _ _____
    I 0.416

    So I will add one resistor 28.84 Ohms

    I will have 28.84 + 28.84 = 57.6 Ohms

    Or 28.84 + 28.84 = 14.42 Ohms

    I don't know if it will work in series or in parallel
    voltage would be 6V and amp current mA = 0.208mA We divide everything by two

    Splice DC jack from one Alienware model to another
    by kalemaroni
    I waited 5 days for this to arrive only to find it's not the right model! Rather than wait for a China order, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to cut and splice/solder anywhere?

    12 pins vs 10 pins, it's a for a Dell AlienWare x15 R2 (P111F003) and the one advertised on eBay was Dell Alienware 15 R1 R2 R3 AW15R1 AW15R2 DC IN Power Jack 0784VK DC30100TN00.

    Also, there seem to be 4 wires soldered to the back of the jack on the X15 R2 and only 3 on the 15 R2. What would the 4th one be?

    Dell optiplex PSU problem
    by gizaha
    Hello. I have problem with Dell psu, outputs are ok but it does not give power ok signal.
    It has a secondady board with wt7527s to check inputs. It doesn't give PGO because it doesn't take enough PGI.
    It takes PGI from a voltage divider.

    I draw a schematic for you to understand.
    My first question is why 5v use two transformer pins, while 12v uses only one.
    My second question, is pin 2 in transformer weak? After resistor, diode and voltage divider, result is 0.7v instead of 1.2v, so wt7527s does not output PGO....

    Asus Z170 Pro Gaming - doesnt power cycle
    by Pedro Alves
    I have Asus Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard, it's working fine apart from the reset and shutdown commands. It doesn't restart when exit the bios or choose to restart in the operating system. Shut down also doesn't work, everything works normally until the moment it should turn off. The only way to turn off is by keep pressing power button for a few seconds. What could it be? This would be my first motherboard repair

    Pioneer PN50951-22U Backlight On, No Image
    by x_orange90_x
    I get backlights that stay on not there is no image. The tv does not automatically power on when plugged in either which I generally see happen when there is a fault. It responds as it should to the power button.

    I checked the test points on the TCON and I have proper voltages except for at 1P15V. I don't know if that is supposed to be 15V or 5V, but either way I only get 1.134V on that point. I have 12V, 8V, VCC, and a small amount on the CKV point.

    I tried heating up the SoC on the main board but that made no difference. Disconnecting either ribbon from the TCON also...

    Need someone to look picture to say if this is normal or not [Uploaded in post]
    by Omron
    Guys I have set top box which has no power on in specific case. When I insert antenna plug which has 12V on it because of dB gain device on top of antenna, device if its turned off, it will not turn on.
    After I need to open the case and short + and - on ABS10 chip and after that device will turn on, without antenna plugged in, after its turned on I can plug in antenna and it will work fine, but I notice there is some extra heat inside the unit.

    Is this chip okay? Rectifier bridge ABS10 JQC I don't think there should be connection like additional diode between plus and minus...
