macbook pro M1 a2338 820-02020 water damage
Small water damage, cleaned it.
Shorted CL002, i removed it carefully with soldering iron, now it has voltage.
5v instant 180ma and then 100ma stable. I didn't found cycling voltage nor shorts in the motherboard.
I don't have pp5v_s2 because uc300 does not get enable pin from u8100 (it gets VIN). pp5v_s2 is not shorted, nor enable pin line.
PP3V3_S2 OK
PP3V3_S2_UPC OK
PP1V5_VLDOINT_MPMU OK
PP3V3_AON OK
PP1V8_AON OK
PP1V25_S2 OK
PP1V8_S2 OK
PP1V8_S2SW_VDD1 OK

Re: 820-00928-a Schematic needed
Find solution about this cap! Boardview 820-01814 that look alike shows that this cap (with the other two on the other side of mobo c0402 c0403) have both legs GND (i don't know why).

Re: 820-00928-a Schematic needed
This schematic is for 820-00281 that was wrongly renamed 820-00928.brd because there are differences.
Same problem about this cap here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1022772Re: 820-00928-a Schematic needed<br ...=1022772

Re: 820-000928-A Help Identify Location of this Capacitor
Sometimes a shorted cap will not heat. No alcohol, no freeze spray, no thermal cam will help you. A laser thermometer does not indicate even a 0.1C difference. Motherboard lines will absorve the amperage and there are thinner that the shorted part (so the part will not heat even with high amperage).
In this case i apply some safe voltage as mentioned with 1-2 amperes (never needed more) and check with multimeter all the suspicious parts that connect with the shorted line (using boardview). In the multimeter on...

Re: Help Identify Location of this Capacitor
I have exactly the same problem. There are also 2 capacitors on the rear side of this area that are not on boardview and they share the shortage of the line also.
I removed all 3 capacitors and the short is here. So tommorow i will search the rest of board.Last edited by gizaha; 06-06-2022, 08:06 AM.

Re: 820-00928-a Schematic needed
Thanks for the files but 820-00928-A is different than the boardview posted here.
You can check here https://logi.wiki/index.php/MacBook_Pro_Pictures#/media/File:00928_verso_composite.jpg
in the upper right corner, there is an extra capacitor next to c4912.
The specific extra capacitor is shorted on mine.Re: 820-00928-a Schematic needed<br ...site.jpg

Re: hp DA0R23MB6D1 doesnt turn on

hp DA0R23MB6D1 doesnt turn on
The motherboard does not turn on.
I use a wall power meter to check the power consumption.
I plug dc jack without battery, 0.9W, white led turns on.
Push power button, drop to 0.6W, pu3 wakes and it outputs +5vs5 and +3vs5 and it's LDO are ok. Also i stress test the +5vs5 and +3vs5 lines and they withstand many amperes.
PU3 replaced, same results.
HWPG is pulled down from something, i checked all IC that connect with HWPG and they act normally. One by one i injected them their EN signal and they output power.
I tried to inject 3.3v at...

HP 15-db strange HDD problem LA-G076P
Hello there. HP 15-db0008nv, motherboard LA-G076P, had water damage.
GL850S is shorted and removed. It's only for card reader, all 3 USB are working ok.
SY8286BRAC was shorted and replaced (it's for creating +3VALWP and +3VALW LDO) and it's working ok.
Now laptop is working but it cannot see the M2 drive, not even in bios:
If i put the disk in a m2 to usb adapter, disk can be seen, so disk is ok.
If i put another M2 disk in the specific laptop, it boots ok, so disk slot is ok.
Disk interface has key B+M, both disks are M2 Sata 3...Last edited by gizaha; 03-01-2022, 04:08 AM.
