by GraphicManHello guys
Because the unit is old (but only occasionally used) the loudness button causes some noise due to bad contact,
sprays did not work, so i decided to solder the pins that it connects on the pcb at the on (loudness on) position
i did that and it worked fine, i know from the bottom of my heart that the switch connects 2 pins and also d/c other 2 pins
on every position it have (6 pin switch), so i was curious what would happen if i clicked the switch off while the pins are soldered at on (so basiclly on and off at the same time), when i did so the sound is gone, nothing...-

by evilkittyI like to get one on mouser/digikey along with a order i plan to place
i have 2 breadboards one from ebay w/ horrendous contact resistance (to the point on NC)
and another from ali-express that feels like i am going to break my micro controller putting it into the thing
any suggestions? (note that i am not spending $50 on a 3m board)04-29-2024, 08:50 AM -

by krstaHi guys, hope someone could direct me in right way.
So i got the ASUS ROG THOR 1200W PLATINUM for 15€.
The first time i plugged it in wall socket there was no 5VSB present, so i disassembled it took a little peak inside and left it on shelf for a day.
Next day the 5VSB was present and the psu worked the whole day (outside of computer, shorting PS_ON to ground).
I tested it for a few days like than and then installed in my computer, it worked flawlessley for 1 month.(gaming and such for a few hours).
Few days ago i left it torrenting and saw...Today, 06:46 AM -
by EazyBoneShown in picture, trying to replace a MOSFET and looks like I knocked this off, in guessing it's the same as one next to it. Has 1.8 Mohms. Any way to bypass it? It's on the hot side
The component circled is the one there, the arrow is I think another of same component?2 PhotosYesterday, 11:47 AM -
by smaniakThe laptop won't start. When plug power supply, on 19V in gives me 0,14A, without turning on the laptop.
I check it with thermal camera, and there is one resistor that is very hot, I change the resistor with new on but the result is the same.
In the attachment there is schematic of the resistor area, and schematic of the laptop.
I can't understand, why this resistor is getting so hot....05-05-2024, 01:24 AM -
