Hi,
I have this dead laptop, if I plug the charger I see only charging led light blinking 3 times.
I disassembled it, removed the battery and checked with my multimeter:
red arrow input connector 19v
green arrow first mosfet drain 19v
white arrow first mosfet source 3v
yellow arrow second mosfet 19v
pink arrow 3v
blue arrow third mosfet shorted to ground
current resistor 3 volts on both sides
Any advice? I have a thermal camera and I could inject low voltage if needed.
Thanks...

HP 290 G1 MT Business PC
Hi,
this HP desktop PC died during an update. Serial is 4CE8052CW2 and motherboard code is FX-ISL-4 REV:A
In HP support site I downloaded the bios file according to the S/N but when extracting I see that the file is named "HP 280 G3 MT System Bios Update" instead.
I read the (corrupted?) bios, it is attached.
I flashed the downloaded bios file named P04_0243 with my CH341 programmer, but the PC will not display anything, only a few weird sounds coming from the speaker, the cpu fan keeps spinning and restarting.

dead HP 250 G6
Hi, I don't even know if the problem is bios related.
It's a HP 250 G6 serial CND8117C44, it died during an update. The caps key is blinking 5 times slow and 3 times fast. Maybe it is a bios problem? I read a backup of the bios with my CH341 interface. I download and extracted bios exe file from HP support and I found 5x .BIN files (and 5x .SIG files) named 084D4 0832D 0832E 08328 and 08445. Which file is correct? I tried to flash every file but the there is no fix. I understand that maybe I need to program the serial number. Any advice?
Thanks in advance! Sorry if this maybe isn't...

Re: HP Pavillion 15-cw1077nl no power
I could only locate 2 classic mosfets, one on the front side and one on the rear side.
front side:
source(1-2-3) 0.4v
gate (4) 0.3v
drain 0v
rear side
source 0v
gate 0.2v
drain 22v...Last edited by vpower; 07-06-2023, 08:32 AM.

Re: HP Pavillion 15-cw1077nl no power
the adapter voltage is present, around 20 volts, "power adapter connector" image
I marked all the mosfets I found in front and rear of the board, I will check voltage on all of them and report here.
I attached an image of battery connector, can you help me locating the charger IC?...

HP Pavillion 15-cw1077nl no power
Hi, I have this laptop that is not powering on. It died suddenly. If I connect the charger or the power supply (19v), no charging led light is turning on.
I only checked with a multimeter that 19v is on the connector of the charging cable on the board (marked with an arrow on the "front" image).
Any hint? Cannot find any schemathics or board layout. Board code is DAG7BJMB8C0 REV C MODEL G7BJ

Oracle Micros DT Research Battery Charger ACC-001-33M
Hi,
I have this charger, it's meant to recharge 4 batteries at a time. It has been probably connected to a 19vcharger instead of the correct 12v charger and it does not work anymore. I disassembled it and found a broken (shorted) diode (D22).
So I replaced the broken diode with a similar diode pulled from the same board but it broke (very hot) even with correct 12v charger.
Any hint? Maybe it's a standard circuit. Sorry I'm a noob.
Thanks in advance...

Re: HP ProBook 440 G3 not charging
I think you refer to PU1 ic BQ24780RUYR..right?
I will measure all the 28 pins voltage. Do I need to have both charger and battery connected? Or only charger is enough?...

Thank you.
Do you mean this 52-pin PU2 ic?...

HP ProBook 440 G3 not charging
Hi,
I have this ProBook that suddenly stopped charging.
This is what happens:
The laptop will only power on when both battery and charger are plugged. But no battery charging icon. As soon as I unplug charging cable, it will power off.
If battery is removed, the laptop will not power on, even with the charger connected.
This is the voltage reading on battery connector pins with both battery and charger connected, from left to right:
pin 1&2 gnd
pin 3 0v
pin 4 0v (seems not connected,no wire)
pin 5 3.3v
pin 6 3.3v

Re: Almost dead Lenovo V15-ADA 82C7
multimeter in diode mode
no short on PQ202 (I only find short for a few seconds between source and drain after I check between gate and drain..is it normal behaviour?)
no short on PQ201
source (1 2 3) is shorted to ground in PQ5907..is this mosfet is connected to F2 fuse that keeps blowing?
I found other coils and mosfets under the cpu shield:
resistance mode
PL5901 and PL5902 around 80 ohm to gnd both sides
PQ5901 to PQ5906 I can check if it's needed.
acdrive pin... where can I find it?

Re: Almost dead Lenovo V15-ADA 82C7
sorry I'm trying to learn. with coil you mean, for example, PL401 and PL402?if yes, with multimeter in resistance mode:
PL401 open circuit on both sides
PL402 open circuit on both sides
PL5903 8,4 ohm on both sides
PR201 open circuit on both sides

Almost dead Lenovo V15-ADA 82C7
Hi, I have this laptop that acts strange. If I try powering on, the power led, the numeric keypad light and the fans will turn on but the screen has no image. The fuse F2 near the lcd connector is blown, I tried to replace it with some similar fuses (1A) but it keeps blowing. I tested these mosfets with multimeter:
PQ201 drain 20v source 20v, gate 26v
PQ202 drain 20v source 20v, gate 26v
PQ5907 drain 20v, source and gate 0v (both shorted to ground too)
PQ5908 drain 0v shorted, source 0v shorted and gate 0v (connected to pin 33 of PU5901)
a lot of capacitors behind...Last edited by Vesko356; 06-19-2023, 02:20 PM. Reason: Attached BV removed and replaced with link + schematic link added.

Re: Asus Nitro 5 N20C1 dead
PQB12 has no shorts . instead, PQB11 (the first and bigger one) is shorted between pins 123 and 5678. I'm removing it and check if short is gone...

thank you. you mean the little mosfet named PQB12 right?...
