Hp pavilion 14 - No display
by Nagyesz
Hi all,
Model: HP Pavilion 14-ce3010nh 8BV97EA
Board number: DAG7ALMB8C0 - G7AL REV C
Issue: I have an HP Pavilion 14-ce3010nh 8BV97EA laptop. When plugged into the charger, it turns on, but there is no display, the fans do not run, and the processor gets slightly warm. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out what the problem is. I've reflashed the BIOS twice without any success. No post. Already tried out with another ram stick with no luck

I measured the voltage with the HP turned on in red, and I measured their resistance with the HP turned off in green....

Grundig 39 WCP 2014 BRS. Bad BL, hack or fix?
by edugimeno
Hi! I was given this TV. It would turn on fine but then after a while the BL would shut off while rest of functions would stay working. I assume this 99% means a shortcut in the BL so the PS detects the overcurrent and shuts off the BL pwr.
I managed to keep it up for the time enough to enter into settings and turn down the backlight to 50% which seemed to help. I was able to watch it for some hours several days

But the other day, I went to try it and the BL didn't even start at boot up. I want to repair it but: This is a spare TV that I want to keep at a house that I seldom...

[RoG Ally] Fault in one of the onboard RAM chips. Any way to diagnose which?
by Prott
Hello dear badcappers!

The title pretty much says it all - do you, please, know if there's any way to troubleshoot which of the integrated RAM chips (LPDDR5X in this case) is faulty?

Backstory:
After replacing the 4 onboard (soldered) memory chips on a RoG Ally (4x4 GB to 4x8 GB) it got stuck on the RoG logo. I assume one of the chips is either not soldered properly or faulty. However after reflowing and replacing bunch of them I am still stuck at the same place.

If there is a way to narrow down which memory module is faulty it would make my...

Need someone to look picture to say if this is normal or not [Uploaded in post]
by Omron
Guys I have set top box which has no power on in specific case. When I insert antenna plug which has 12V on it because of dB gain device on top of antenna, device if its turned off, it will not turn on.
After I need to open the case and short + and - on ABS10 chip and after that device will turn on, without antenna plugged in, after its turned on I can plug in antenna and it will work fine, but I notice there is some extra heat inside the unit.

Is this chip okay? Rectifier bridge ABS10 JQC I don't think there should be connection like additional diode between plus and minus...

ASUS PWM ASP1405I (=IR35201) firmware contents for ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO (WI-FI)
by DynaxSC
Hi

I have an ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO (WI-FI) board with demaged PWM controller ASP1405I, and this is unfortunalely a programmable chip.
Without programming it, it won't start to work on the board - have checked this physically with a new unprogrammed chip.

I'm looking for information about the possibility to readout and program the ASUS PWM chip ASP1405I again with the firmware (configuration file).

To do this, it is necessary to buy a quite expensive I2C type interface card (named USB005), so I'm wondering if it is worth to spend the money, as this makes...

Centronics ZAT502HD ATSC Set Top Box
by mechguy
I watch some basic TV using an ATSC tuner set top box which outputs HDMI to my LCD TV. The brand is Centronics, which seems like a fairly low cost (ie cheaply made) product. The UI is a bit crude looking compared to what I've seen on TVs that have the ATSC tuner built in (but it works!). Anyway, the set top box has always had an odd behaviour, which is that turning the device on using the remote would sometimes not "stick", that is, it would turn on momentarily and then immediately turn off. It didn't do this all the time, but it did this randomly since I've had it, which is 2009. Recently...

HELP - Chip info needed
by fichamba
Hello everybody:

I'm fixing a Lenovo Legion 5P 15IMH (can't see more on cover, but I will put a pic of the MoBo's reference), and I have a problem. I have solved all the problems with several components which went bad (MosFets, +3.3/+5Vdc regulator, shorted EC), and everything is not shorted now, but the PCH is. So I need your help to order this chip. I don't know what is the designation in order to buy one (the one in the MoBo was removed because it has a shorted zone). Everything is clean waiting for a new PCH, but I have no clues in how to order one. Please I beg your help....

Hey everyone, I have an LG 65uq7050zud with a black picture but backlight is on. I tested the measurements from the PSU and they check out. I can’t find any service manual so I’m suspecting the main board. Any advice before I replace the board? Found them for around $60...

Pioneer PN50951-22U Backlight On, No Image
by x_orange90_x
I get backlights that stay on not there is no image. The tv does not automatically power on when plugged in either which I generally see happen when there is a fault. It responds as it should to the power button.

I checked the test points on the TCON and I have proper voltages except for at 1P15V. I don't know if that is supposed to be 15V or 5V, but either way I only get 1.134V on that point. I have 12V, 8V, VCC, and a small amount on the CKV point.

I tried heating up the SoC on the main board but that made no difference. Disconnecting either ribbon from the TCON also...
