I'm working on this board where fix has been attempted by other techs. I just want to confirm if burnt PU601 is really an RT8231B chip as I think its supposed to be a 3V5VLDO chip....

Re: NM-A901 Lenovo Yoga
Thanks for the input! 5V goes in to ISL9237 which then outputs 4.6V to PR57 and drain of PQ16, but no 9V is produced for Vin (0V). Looks like replacing ISL9237 is a good option, I guess? No shorts tested for the mosfets in the line....

NM-A901 Lenovo Yoga
Hope someone can help.
Kinda confused about the power delivery of this unit. Instead of the normal 20V,, being delivered, only 5V is delivered to ADIN_1 in JP8, where the USB port board NS-A901 is connected. I used a USBC Tested connected in series, FYI.
Can someone explain how 20V or 5V is negotiated, and in this case, what circuit decides that? I was initially looking at PU3 (PMIC) but can't really understand where power is negotiated. Then looked at the SIO chip, however, how can the SIO chip negotiate if +3VALW_EC is not present. And saw that +3V_ALW is then produced...Last edited by SMDFlea; 08-24-2023, 10:45 AM.

Asus TUF Gaming FX504GM DABKLIMBAB0 - No POst, Turns OFF after a few seconds
I would say this is a no fix, but want to pick the brains of the veterans here.
All voltages present, already tried several BIOS bins. All voltages present when power button is pressed. All reset signals present. Unit does not post, but turns off after around 10-12 seconds.
Some interesting details:
1. Unit toggles from 7 & 12 mA when plugged in
2. Units goes up to 1.5A when turned on (10-12 secs)
3. Current toggles between 37mA & 42mA when it turns off.
4. Unit is on continuously ON w/ all voltages present when no RAM is present....Last edited by limxrich; 12-18-2022, 02:45 AM.

ASUS X560UD - shuts off after 3-5 secs whenever RAM is present
Working on an X560UD. Unit turns off whenever RAM is present. Tried multiple known good memory sticks, but still, unit shuts off after 3-5 secs. When RAM is removed, unit stays on, but of course, do not POST.
Happens on any o the two slots, 1.2V present.
Any clues?
