my laptop has a weird power-on issue.
Once the laptop has been powered on, it can restart/ wake just fine on battery power or Adapter, ONLY If i have not closed the LCD.
If i am running on battery and have closed the LCD (even momentarily). it will not power-on/ wake-up on battery power no matter the battery percentage.
but once i open the LCD and connect it to the adapter (even momentarily) it will wake up gain and I wont experience any issues till i close the LCD.
i do not know where to look for repair.
thank you all for any advice.

I've had this Eneloop charger from new, and it works fine but has always made a really irritating ticking sound roughly once per second when more than one battery was inserted. I found the noise to be coming from the OB5222AG PWM DIP-8 IC. I tried replacing it with an identical part - the problem persists but rather than a ticking, it now sounds like a squeal. The problem is there are no spec sheets for this IC anywhere and no information besides it being a PWM IC, so I have no...Yesterday, 10:08 AM

by edugimenoHi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
So provided all...04-18-2024, 01:15 PM -
Hello,
I am new to repairing computer electronics, so excuse any mistakes I make.
A friend of mine had a broken graphics card (MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT MECH OC) and gave it to me. It does not power on or show any signs of life.
I identified what looks like the remains of a blown capacitor at the bottom of the board (see picture).
I wanted to replace the capacitor, but I have two questions:

Does this repair have a chance of working? or is a blown capacitor a sign something else is wrong?
How do I determine the rating/value of this capacitor?...1 PhotoToday, 09:56 AM -

by LunarEklipzeI can't seem to flash a new BIOS normally with the .exe file provided by Lenovo, so I'm looking for help. Every time I try I get an error message that reads "New BIOS region (1000000h) does not match with current (C00000h)"
I've extracted the .bin files from both the UB1/UB2 chip (8MB) and also from the UB3 chip (16MB) using a flash programmer although I am not sure if both need to be flashed or just one. Can I get help getting working .bin files from the latest BIOS version for each chip respectively to see if that works? I've extracted the bios.fd file myself and then...-

by fixit007I picked up this TV that the prior owner said - just died.
Tested the fuse - burnt. A dead capacitor is visible too on the hot side (CP801). Got the replacement power board (cheaply - used). Replaced the board - the TV turned ON!
Now, about a month later (yesterday) I noticed the left side of the screen was flickering from time to time. That was already happening with the antenna input, not through HDMI.
Also, some glitchiness with a Fire stick on HDMI3 - I hit an app with quick dark screen in stick, the TV goes - no input. Then I had to choose the stick...Today, 06:14 PM

by benwatersonHi All
Been a while since I have been here, and a bit rusty.
I have the above laptop motherboard that was working and now the charging circuit is faulty.
Have 19v in fine until it hits PU4403 - not shorts I can see and thermal cam reveals nothing.
I have swapped out the ISL9538 and also the two mosfets (PU4403 and PU4405). Have 2.8v at the power switch, which pulls low when pressed - charging light comes on and goes straight off
Below are measurements (pin names are per the datasheet for the ISL95338 (couldn't find one for ISL9538,...Yesterday, 03:25 AM -
by angelosHello Guys,
I am not familiar at all with plasma tv's but i tried my luck anyway since business is so bad. We gotta try, right?
Anyway, the original problem was a tv clicking and not starting due to a short circuit on the Z-Sustain board (on the right side from the rear).
I found two transistors shorted (30F123) and changed the gate driver ic's as well. I think they were FAN73711. I soldered for dry joint on power supply, Y-Sustain and Z-sustain. Started up the TV and the short was gone so i had an image but.....
Lots of colorful speckles on the image and also there...Today, 11:01 AM -

by trickarttHello Badcaps!
I am trying to troubleshoot my Allen & Heath Xone:02 DJ mixer. I have had this for somewhere close to 20 years and have played music through it in one form or another pretty much every single day since I've had it, though these days it's usually from a wireless streaming receptacle (Apple Airport) more than the turntables that are also connected to it.
This week my music stopped working, and after a bit of a wild goose chase, I realised my mixer was dead. I checked the 500mA fuse in the device beside the power supply and found it was blown, so I replaced...-

by mrgumshotHi all,
I've got a Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 15IMH05 with a black screen issue. I've tried a BIOS file which i saw in another post and changed some things in a Hex editor.
So i transfered the DMI info from my original BIOS to the one i got from the post. Flashed it to the chip and the laptop was booting again but very slow post.
After a couple of boots it went back to black screen again. Tried to flash the same BIN file on it which i used before but its staying at the black screen now unfortunately.
I hope someone can help me out. Attached is my [B]ORIGINAL...-
