i have these la - f401p motherboard that i am working on. the problem is that it does not charge the battery up it only shows its charging but does not go up. attached is the picture of how it looks. can anyone help me.Today, 06:21 AM

I bought, totally on purpose a HP Elitebook 255 G9 with no OS. I do have a few Windows licence keys lying around and wanted to adventure a key into this bios.
What I do know:
A Windows licence follows this same sting of hex numbers in every bios: 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00
The dump of the HP 255 G9 does not have this string.
My guess is that Windows activation looks for named string and checks the licence key behind it. (please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm learning)....Today, 08:58 AM -
Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to modify a BIOS file to accept a legacy disk when it does not have the capability, I had this problem on a Optiplex 3060 that were donated to my job where we use non-uefi linux distros, we cannot use uefi since is a "big machine" with this systems beign the center of all of it, we can't change the distro now, maybe make some changes, but if I can modify the BIOS it would be awesome.05-14-2024, 10:31 AM

I am currently playing with and old Hikvision DVR for which I do not have the password. Is anyone able to help with the password on this or able to provide a bios flash image without a password?
I would be interested in learning how to find where the password is stored in the bin file so that i know how to do this sort of thing for myself.

Hello everyone, I have this Asus model X556UA that when plugged in I get the white light but nothing happens when pressing the power button. I've been looking into it following the power sequence and found out that the power button is sending the signal to the EC (PWR_SW#) but the EC is not sending the PM_PWRBTN# to the PCH (it always stays at 3.3V). I'm stuck here and don't know what else can I do, maybe I can get some help. I've seen that this could mean that the PCH is dead but I don't know how I can confirm this. I use it with a card connected to the motherboard that replace the EFI.
I know how to flash the EFI with a usb programmer but I don't know where to find a good EFI file.

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15ikb NM-B241 rev:1.0.
After turning it on, it runs for a few seconds then shuts off completely. No screen, no fan. After shutdown, a red light comes on and off fast. I've been trying to troubleshoot this for days now. It's never been opened up; the Lenovo sticker is still intact.
(!)I tried with a different BIOS battery, without any ribbon cables, on battery power, without the keyboard, and it's always the same.

When plugged in (no battery installed), the battery light on the motherboard lights up and then turn off. When powering on, the same and light and the power button also light up in a white color but no output on the display. It stayed like that for a few seconds before shutting down. I also seem to ruined a connector that connects to the WLAN, 2 USB and audio board, the same board also have a melted 2062A IC. I will post pictures in the reply section05-11-2024, 04:40 AM

Thanks for reading. Based on the interesting fact that the vertical lines issue don't seem to effect the menus whatsoever but rather everything around the menu regardless of video is shown, I'm trying to set mine whether the issue is the main board or the t-con board.
Again what's baffling is that the menu is not effected whatsoever. However, any other video displayed regardless of inputs or when no inputs exist exhibits the vertical lines and seem to effect black areas only.

After upgrading the factory 128Gb SSD to a 512Gb WD_Black SN770M, this surface pro lost touch on screen, no touch in windows or in UEFI.
The Human Interface Devices did find touch and stylus but it shows Disabled in windows device manager.
I am not sure if this is a bios problem or hardware problem, already tried reinstall and reset from windows, not working. And now trying to clean/reset the bios.

I have a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014.
I have set a EFI password and I can't remember it : now I want to reinstall macOS and I can't because the MacBook is asking for the password.
I know how to remove the password with a usb programmer.
I plug the usb programmer to the motherboard and to my pc with usb, I read the EFI and I save it to a file.
Then I have to find this value in the file : $SVS because it indicate where is the password.
But I can't find the value.
