From what I know the current increases depending on the work load, peripherals connected, if the battery is charging or not... Have you tried to plug your original charger with the battery disconnected? Maybe your battery is faulty, this can cause a raise in the consumption.

Asus Vivobook (X556UJ rev 2.0) No dissplay & missing RAM voltage
Hello everyone, right now I'm trying to repair or at least diagnose an Asus laptop.
Laptop behaves as follow:[LIST][*]When [B]plugging the charger[/B], [B]orange LED[/B] turns on (but no battery connected)[*]Pressing the [B]power button[/B] turn on [B]white LED[/B] indicator but nothing changes[*]Amperage is always around 0.030 Amps[*]Missing RAM DDR3 voltage (1.35V) and also all the ones around the SOC (VCCGT, VCCSA and VCCCORE)[/LIST]I noticed that the RAM power driver is not sending the signal to the gates of the mosfets and I'm trying to find out if the IC is working properly...

I'm getting [B]117 mA[/B] current draw when plugging in the power supply. It stays the same when pressing the button.
Reading on the [B]coils [/B]are the following:

Help diagnosing laptop ASUS X556UJ_MB REV 2.0 motherboard
Hello everyone, I have this Asus model X556UA that when plugged in I get the white light but nothing happens when pressing the power button. I've been looking into it following the power sequence and found out that the power button is sending the signal to the EC (PWR_SW#) but the EC is not sending the PM_PWRBTN# to the PCH (it always stays at 3.3V). I'm stuck here and don't know what else can I do, maybe I can get some help. I've seen that this could mean that the PCH is dead but I don't know how I can confirm this. Also this may not be important but when plugged in, the PCH/CPU (they go together...
