It turns out the bios is not to blame.
The content of this 8MB chip could be suspect? I do see the ITE EC warm up ever so slightly when I connect the power adapter. I did reflow this BGA chip to check if it would make a temporary difference.
The mentioned GigaDevice chip does contain the identity of this laptop. Could someone fix this with a known good? If that doesn't work I sadly have to let the laptop go unrepaired.

I'll find the other chip and get it dumped. But how is the windows licence key in the EC? It's a GigaDevice 25Q64CSIG, which indeed is smaller than 16MB...Leave a comment:

Please have a loot at his bios.
The laptop does charge te battery, there's 3.3V present, but that's it.
While checking in HxD it appears that the dump is almost empty. I did find the windows licence key though.
