Hey Friends,
I have an MBP 2019 16" (A2141), i9/64Gb/1Tb, and recently the LCD went out. Not flexgate or Dustgate. Backlight is on and works, the board still works and posts to an external monitor. Not a software issue, absolutely nothing shows up onscreen except for backlight glow. opened the bottom cover and resistor L8504, a 120 ohm resistor (I believe) is fried, and fell off the mobo with a gentle touch. after it fell off, same problem with zero change observed which is why I think it is the issue. That resistor, acc to the 820-01700 motherboard schematic, goes straight to pin 46...

by Fisher8865Hi guys
I have a MacBook Pro A1990 that takes 4.9 Volts and .592 to .615 amps on one port. The other port on the left side power cycles with about the same amount of volts an amps but quickly power cycles. The same thing happens on the other side but opposite. So on the left side the bottom port stays on and on the right side it's the top one. I think it is a CD3215 chip but I am not sure how to test it or where to get one. I have checked for voltage at ppbus_g3h and it has 12.6 V which is also on fuses f7000 and f7001 I checked pp1v2_s3 and it has 1.2 V then...05-30-2024, 07:36 PM -
by OmronGuys I have set top box which has no power on in specific case. When I insert antenna plug which has 12V on it because of dB gain device on top of antenna, device if its turned off, it will not turn on.
After I need to open the case and short + and - on ABS10 chip and after that device will turn on, without antenna plugged in, after its turned on I can plug in antenna and it will work fine, but I notice there is some extra heat inside the unit.
Is this chip okay? Rectifier bridge ABS10 JQC I don't think there should be connection like additional diode between plus and minus...Yesterday, 03:09 AM -
by ChattFixHello everyone, I need some help with a PS5 Slim board EDM-040 that will beep but no light or fan spin.
When I connect my bench power supply, (12v 0.500amp) the amps go between .135-.035 then back to .005.
When I attach UART I get the error code below. I have replaced the DDR4 ram IC with one from a donor board. Cannot verify is the IC was working or not, still same error.

by max_smartHi all,
First off, this forum really helped me out by advising me to cut some ribbon connectors to the LCD panel in order to fix a 70" TV (lots of threads on Sharp TVs with this issue). I didn't believe that it could work, but it did.
Now I've been encouraged to try to diagnose something quite a bit more complicated. That is an old T430 motherboard. I work on a college campus so I have access to pretty decent tools. I found the schematic for the motherboard on the site, and have been following traces and taking DC measurements from things. I also don't mind...3 Photos06-01-2024, 03:27 PM

by ChattFixHey everyone, I have an LG 65uq7050zud with a black picture but backlight is on. I tested the measurements from the PSU and they check out. I canโt find any service manual so Iโm suspecting the main board. Any advice before I replace the board? Found them for around $60...Yesterday, 12:10 PM

by x_orange90_xI get backlights that stay on not there is no image. The tv does not automatically power on when plugged in either which I generally see happen when there is a fault. It responds as it should to the power button.
I checked the test points on the TCON and I have proper voltages except for at 1P15V. I don't know if that is supposed to be 15V or 5V, but either way I only get 1.134V on that point. I have 12V, 8V, VCC, and a small amount on the CKV point.
I tried heating up the SoC on the main board but that made no difference. Disconnecting either ribbon from the TCON also...06-01-2024, 08:55 PM -
