Greetings,
I have a Dell Latitude 5520 that will randomly lockup and the fan seems to not run correctly under load or at idle
if I run a benchmark it will max out at high temp 90ish C than drop down to use 2.5-3 watts and shortly after lock up it seems.
Could this be a Corrupted ME region?
Any ideas?
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

Need help understanding what I'm doing wrong, when I flash the bios dump I get
"the bios has recovered its identity data from the embedded controller due to data mismatch"
Do I need to flash the 8p chip above it also?
Alternatively is the last post saying blank the first 128k/256k on both chips and the PW will be cleared?
excuse my ignorance on the subjects.
Thankyou.

Re: MSI RTX2070 code 43
Pretty sure this is a dead core, it has a faint sign of flux pool around ram and gpu. sadness

Re: Msi gtx 1060
Bios runs on 1.8v
on the programmer use a meter and measure pin 1 voltage make sure its not dumping 5v or 3.3 on the chip it needs 1.8 or you could damage the bios.
I had someone point this out to me on a card I am working on and had to get a daughter board to drop the voltage down because I was damaging the chips when inspecting them and write/read.

Re: MSI RTX2070 code 43
I wound up just grabbing this kit. with a adapter board for 1.8v
you can never have too many programmers am I right?
this may also fix the v-droop problems with the clip

checked with meter and sure enough 5v out on pin 1 -_- i'll look for the guide to correct this issue, much helpful....

Re: MSI RTX2070 code 43
I have done just about everything you said DynaxSC except maybe a proper bend test.
I took the vbios back off and found out its looking bad, it looks like it corrupted from the last flash i did and its not letting me write it anymore. I ordered a few extra and will follow up with what happens.

Re: need help to recover fine usb on asus m4a785dm pro mb
Have you checked for bad solder joints on ports, bad caps?
use a usb power meter and see what voltage its putting out on the power lines.
check for broken lines to the usb port and inspect the port see if any fingers are loose / broken.
give it a hard look and check for anything that looks strange on the board
it could be shorting out intermittently if the whole bus drops for all ports.
"edit" when the ports drop do you see a device in device manager...

Re: MSI RTX2070 code 43
I do have an oscilloscope but I'm still learning how to use the device.
When I check the V-BIOS it gets 1.8v but I can't see the CS/low event happen. Lines on pcie look fine.
My card is a MS-373 I believe.

MSI RTX2070 code 43
Tested all voltages they are present.
will bad memory issues keep bios from working?
gpu-z shows no memory
card shows up even with bios chip removed in windows?
excuse my ignorance just looking for a direction. mats/mods can't see a compatible eeprom/card.
reflashed bios with fresh image of compatible card.
seems like an issue with memory or bios logic?

Re: Replace SMT LEDs on your backlights!!!!
I would recommend a little practice with a old back-light before trying on a fixable unit
from my experance i don't see the sinked LEDs on normal PCB as much as on the ALU strips
i do have a nicer hakko head unit for my iron
Thanks for all the feedback guys....

Replace SMT LEDs on your backlights!!!!
I have seen this problem a lot so i made a video on how to replace the burned/shorted LEDs from your backlights.
