Hi all, just curious if the BL_ERR signal is active high or low? TV has the 6 blink error code and I've changed the backlights as they tested questionable (4 strips tested - 203VDC, 203VDC, 203VDC and 175VDC). The new strips all tested at 175VDC. Now when I turn it on, it tries twice to come up and then the 6 blink code. During the this time the BL_ERR pin is high and drops low momentarily, then does it again on the 2nd try to boot (so Im assuming active low). The other thing is the backlight voltage ramps to ~280VDC from around ~160VDC and then back down as the TV tries to boot again. Does...06-03-2024, 07:30 PM

Hi, this is for troubleshooting and, hopefully, repairing a Delta Power psu
that is still quite new, as it worked OK for some months until it failed.
At the time I was not into power supply electronics; it was put
aside and a new power supply installed inside the computer. Also at the time
power supplies were half the price of today's.
On the PCB there are a D339 and 7500B chips.
I have found that schematics with these 2 chips (see included file).
Does it represent the actual circuit of the MAX-500ATX, I cannot tell.

I started troubleshooting this Razer Blade 15 laptop DA560 motgerboard a while back, due to some shorted 19v, 5v, 1v power rails. I fixed some of components and think 19v rail is good, 5v rail is good, 3v is better but not all way i think, and 1v is still bad. At this point the diode reading on these rails are 19v - 0.032v , 5v - 0.167v, 3 - 0.63v and 1v - 0.005v .
When the rails when down, I went down different rabbit holes and seeing chips getting pretty warm on thermal but not blazing hot. Yet there were not any caps or any small components getting blazing hot. Example is EC chip,...Yesterday, 11:35 AM -

Quick repair summary for those interested. I had a Hisense 58R6E3 TV that had backlights working but no picture. T-Con had 12V supply but some of the supplies on the board were 0V. Unplugging one of flat cables to the LCD display driver boards brought the supplies back up, so I figured it was a short on the LCD panel driver board. Narrowed the short down to the 15V power supply by checking the coils on the T-Con board to ground with a diode test and confirmed that all the MLCC caps on that rail all showed a short to ground. I injected 5V/1A into the 15V rail on the driver board (T-Con disconnected)...Today, 04:16 PM

I found my old Xbox 360 in storage and opened it up to see if there was anything that broke since it was built in 2006 (launch era Xenon revision, never red ringed, never been serviced) and didn't want to find out by releasing magic smoke. Upon moving the dust bunnies out of the way I was greeted by a bunch of capacitors with crud coming out of the top; it doesn't seem to have leaked onto the board so at least I have that going for me.
I'm posting here because I want to try to source replacement caps myself from Mouser or Digikey instead of braving eBay or waiting for places to have...Today, 05:10 PM -

Hi fellow lifesavers.
I have a Samsung washer-dryer WD80N645OOW which died mid-cycle. No response to anything, completely dead.
Checked the socket, the plug fuse, all good. Took it out to examine the boards.
There is a relay clicking on the mainboard. Upon applying power, I can see a diode flashing on inverter board, after a while a diode on main board lits up for a split second, then I can hear a relay clicking. This repeats a few times, then everything dies completely.

I am trying to determine what these components are, used a jumpers. I am not sure if they are ferrite or something else. Board ID is EU-KFR80W/BP3(IR311+PS21997+SIM6822+LOCK).D.13.WP2-1. A service tech shorted the area underneath these components, which were covered in carbon. They are also used in another place on this pcb but I'm not sure what they are. I have not removed them to measure yet. They do not have a label on them.Today, 01:28 PM

Hi,
i had a HP 640 G8 with a DA0X8AMB8E0 Board. I would Flash the BIOS, but i used a CH341A Programmer with 5V instead auf 3,3. Then I thought the BIOS was now defective. I have already replaced it with a new one (flashed the same BIOS).
With the new chip, the notebook has the same error. The charging port lights up once and then goes out again. The notebook does nothing more.
I iced the board with a cooling spray to possibly find a chip that gets hot or has a short circuit. Unfortunately, I didn't find any. I suspect a fuse might have blown. Does anyone...Today, 02:47 AM
