by jkrunsHello everyone,
This is my first post after browsing this wonderful treasure trove of knowledge for many, many evenings. I've decided to learn how to fix these things, properly.
My patient is an A2338 Macbook Pro M1 (late 2020).
It had some corrosion around JT710 and JT700 caused by liquid spill, as well as against the protective barrier around the USB-C chips UF000 and UF100. So I took the main board out and cleaned it with a toothbrush and alcohol, then with alcohol in an ultrasonic cleaner. Cleaned the touchbar flex connectors as well. The board looks...04-22-2024, 06:45 AM -

by obelix24I have one strange issue with Macbook Pro 13" A1706 (touch bar) 4 TB ports
Issue is that all 4 ports are working but on one port only one side (when i rotate connector 180 degree there is nothing (ampmeter is not turned on at all) and charger (original apple) is put to protective mode, I have to unplug USB from the power brick to enable it again.
I've tried multiple USB-C ports (one one side all ports all sides work when i reconnect it to other side both ports work but one only on one side)
There is no issue problem on the board (no liquid damage, no damaged...Today, 04:28 AM -

I'm middle of doing this console and just wanted to ask about a component if someone seen one of these. It looks like a fuse or a coil but I measure nothing no resistance or anything. It's related to the hdmi section and connects ground to an ic.I'm a bit confused at this point.Anyone can confirm what it is?Please only need advice from who actually worked with one of these.Thanks1 PhotoToday, 10:03 AM

by StretchxHi, Looking for the MSI's MS-16W21 VER 1.0 Schematics boardview.
I already have the schematic.

I read through this post:

It seems like my tv is exhibiting similar symptoms. I have backlight when only the power supply is connected, but I didn't test much further.
The main board is slightly different (BN94-12402R) although it is stamped the exact same...
Board is stamped:

by FaroksHello guys,
i got this laptop from a friend to solve a problem.
The Laptop got a black screen. After turning it on, the keyboardlight is on and the fan working sometimes but nothing to see. The LCD is fine.
I did the LCD selfttest.
I think my friend tryed to update the Bios and failed.
I have a TL866 ll Plus and ordered a SOIC8 clamp. I want to flash the Bios on circuit.
I don't know which of the two chips are the bios.
Near the CMOS Battery: MXIC MX25L8006E
Near the CPU: AH1721 259(8)128CSIG E7A026 the 9 can be a 8.

by MarkIV4Hi everyone, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping you can help me out.
My Samsung Galaxy Book suddenly stopped working and won't turn on at all. I noticed that the component in the attached photo looks burnt out. I think it's a voltage regulator, but I can't find any information about this IC online. I've searched using the code on the chip, but I haven't been able to find a replacement....Today, 03:30 AM -

Hi all,
I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 Panasonic here, when powered

both fans spins (the sconds starts with a bit of a delay), no image neither on HDMI nor the display
most voltage rails seem OK (see image below, red labels)
resistnace to ground mostly seem OK as well (blue labels)
the only suspicious is the 0.0V rail (2nd from left, top row)

the resistance to ground is rather low (1.9ohm)
when injecting the voltage (1V), it consumes around 200mA, seems OK to me (?)
also tried new BIOS, no change

by corrizeHello,
I have different sort of those little BGA chips (step down DC-DC, power management battery, …) I replaced 10 on differents mobile devices (no schematics) but I noticed often they can be dead but never shorted. I see some signs : burn marks, resistance drop by comparison with good board (40 KOhms to 1 KOhms for example)… but not easy to be sure of the diagnose. Because I can't access on all tracks (balls) with the meter.
Sometime, I know only after replacing chips.
Do you have tips for diagnose please ?...Today, 08:30 AM
