by r2digitalI have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...04-18-2024, 03:50 PM

I came across this schematic, and I built it, but I can't seem to figure it out why I'm getting a low AC voltage output at the TRIAC terminals.
With 230V AC hot side at the TRIAC MT2, I measured 60V AC between MT1 and neutral side when the comparator output LED indicator is on, and 20V AC when it is off.
Same result if 230V AC hot side is at MT1, and I measured between MT2 and neutral side.
My heating element doesn't work with 60V AC. It's not even getting hot and the thermocouple amplifier output is a...1 PhotoToday, 02:12 AM -

I've got a few identical HP EliteBook 1030 G4 laptops. Most of them I succeeded flashing, but a few went wrong. Therefore they're BIOS is now corrupted. Here is a dump of a correct/working bios (no password, fully working, exact same ram, display, LTE, WIFI etc etc).
I tried cleaning the ME region myself (see attached file), but i think that's wrong, because it doesnt start with the correct amount of zero bytes...
Of course, just flashing those binaries on a different laptop will result in HP Endpoint Security controller problem and resetting the bios after...-

by abajorHaving this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.
I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.
The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.
The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...Today, 01:37 PM -
by fuusEvening all,
Long time no post!
I have a UE49NU7100K here with the classic melted diffuser and damaged backlight from getting too hot. Locally there is a UE49MU6470 available which I could pick up to replace the melted diffuser. Would this work or am I missing something? They look like the same style of backlight.
If this sounds good, where is the best place to buy a new backlight? Will I regret buying from Aliexpress?
Thanks in advance for any help04-04-2024, 03:34 PM -

by michdundeeHi all,
I'm facing a issue... hope you could help me. I have a T-CON board BN41-02112A from Samsung 55inch Curve TV.
I have just only 2 status blue LEDs ON since LED3 is off. I have tried to test some test points but VON is NOT OK very close to 0V. Is there someone that can help me on the debugging the issue? I'm supplying the board from an external 12V voltage source.
Thank you in advance.

Michele

by crosswindsHello,
So, pulled a motherboard out from storage, was working when put away, wont post when I took it out of storage today.
Since it was working, and it looks to be essentially time that killed it I figured its a good idea to replace the caps before digging further.
Looks to be only good quality caps on this board, so might not be the issue. But it is closing in on 20 years now so, wont hurt i guess
Its a ASUS P5VDZ-MX board.
I would really appreciate some assistance on what the best replacement caps would be for these:

I downloaded a BIOS file from Lenovo and once I extracted the actual BIOS from the executable, it is 16MB in size, but my IC(Winbond 25Q80DV) is only 8MB in capacity. I have read you can trim the BIOS file with a hex editor but I can't find any instructions on specifically what you will remove.Today, 10:55 AM

Hi, all. I have an Asus Rog Strix GL703G. Yesterday I took it apart to clean out the dust and redo the thermal. Unfortunately, when I attempted to pull the battery, the metal retaining clip (unable to retain itself due to genius engineering) popped off and shorted across the capacitors behind it. Now I have no response from the laptop with or without the battery.
I'm hoping maybe someone can help me read the board and figure out what potentially shorted. I have a soldering station, I can run hot air, I have a multimeter, I just have no idea how to trace or measure the power circuit....03-08-2024, 04:35 PM
