by Ajm121Hey Friends,
I have an MBP 2019 16" (A2141), i9/64Gb/1Tb, and recently the LCD went out. Not flexgate or Dustgate. Backlight is on and works, the board still works and posts to an external monitor. Not a software issue, absolutely nothing shows up onscreen except for backlight glow. opened the bottom cover and resistor L8504, a 120 ohm resistor (I believe) is fried, and fell off the mobo with a gentle touch. after it fell off, same problem with zero change observed which is why I think it is the issue. That resistor, acc to the 820-01700 motherboard schematic, goes straight to pin 46...05-16-2024, 02:28 PM -
by OmronGuys I have set top box which has no power on in specific case. When I insert antenna plug which has 12V on it because of dB gain device on top of antenna, device if its turned off, it will not turn on.
After I need to open the case and short + and - on ABS10 chip and after that device will turn on, without antenna plugged in, after its turned on I can plug in antenna and it will work fine, but I notice there is some extra heat inside the unit.
Is this chip okay? Rectifier bridge ABS10 JQC I don't think there should be connection like additional diode between plus and minus...Yesterday, 03:09 AM -
by ChattFixHello everyone, I need some help with a PS5 Slim board EDM-040 that will beep but no light or fan spin.
When I connect my bench power supply, (12v 0.500amp) the amps go between .135-.035 then back to .005.
When I attach UART I get the error code below. I have replaced the DDR4 ram IC with one from a donor board. Cannot verify is the IC was working or not, still same error.

by max_smartHi all,
First off, this forum really helped me out by advising me to cut some ribbon connectors to the LCD panel in order to fix a 70" TV (lots of threads on Sharp TVs with this issue). I didn't believe that it could work, but it did.
Now I've been encouraged to try to diagnose something quite a bit more complicated. That is an old T430 motherboard. I work on a college campus so I have access to pretty decent tools. I found the schematic for the motherboard on the site, and have been following traces and taking DC measurements from things. I also don't mind...3 Photos06-01-2024, 03:27 PM -

by ChattFixHey everyone, I have an LG 65uq7050zud with a black picture but backlight is on. I tested the measurements from the PSU and they check out. by johnbetonHello,
I have a A1706 with 820-00923-A board. The laptop came in with non-working keyboard. I bought a new top-cover with keyboard and transfered everything to the new topcover.
Since then the macbook will not charge or power-up. Before replacing top cover, I started the macbook to test, and it worked fine apart from keyboard. Then shut it down and did replacement.
This is what I measure so far:
Resistance from F7000 to ground is 123 Ohm on pin 1 and 2
PPBUS_G3H = 0,79v
PPBUS_HS_CPU = 0,79v
PPBUS_HS_OTH5V = 0,79v

by x_orange90_xI get backlights that stay on not there is no image. The tv does not automatically power on when plugged in either which I generally see happen when there is a fault. It responds as it should to the power button.
I checked the test points on the TCON and I have proper voltages except for at 1P15V. I don't know if that is supposed to be 15V or 5V, but either way I only get 1.134V on that point. I have 12V, 8V, VCC, and a small amount on the CKV point.
I tried heating up the SoC on the main board but that made no difference. Disconnecting either ribbon from the TCON also...06-01-2024, 08:55 PM -

by ChattFixI have a Samsung UN55TU700DFXZA with a distorted picture and I thought it was a bad panel. I had a similar board with one number off and still tried it to see what the issue could be. The picture came out clear with only missing blue hue I think. I found a replacement board for $30 but wanted to learn if this would be the main IC or possibly something else. by chth96I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm
And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...-
