Hi Folks i dont post much but i have need today please read on and maybe we can get these things sorted.
I am on a health drive and last week bought a Bowflex max M7 to push on with my desire to get fitter but it was bought with a none functional "console screen" though the screen is dead the machine still works fine you can adjust the resistance manually like a bicycle brake adjustment it is cable fed but i want the programs and heart rate/calorie functions for my health drive. A new console is available but im getting quoted £520 or thereabouts and Bowflex as of yet have...

I have some general electronics troubleshooting experience and still as my hoppy but this is my first laptop trying to fix.
History: my laptop backlight stopped working without any reason.
Symptoms:
I have image on screen using my flashlight.
I have fully working laptop with the help of my external SAMSUNG LED tv via HDMI cable.

got my hands on a Samsung UE60JU6800K, initially it apparently had a bunch of white circles on screen which I confirmed was due to loose diffusers when I opened the set up and found a mountain of them at the bottom. The person I got if from stored the TV unused for a lengthy period after this so when I got it the backlight was completely gone. I took out the strips and almost all of the LED's have a crack on the yellow phosphor form the center of the LED outward, the ones that don't have this crack seem to work still (Maybe due to humidity after a long period?). I am trying to downgrade my bios on my Alienware so I can undervolt & overclock my CPU, and overclock my ram. I need to get to bios 1.2.2 for this. Dell doesn't allow downgrades, and their bios file is an exe compiled in c++, so I can't decompile it easily. I am wondering if I can flash the bios manually using a usb flasher. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, where the bios chip would be. I know flashers are pretty cheap and the bios chip is 8-pin. Hey guys, I'm new here and I'd like to say thanks for all the knowledge on this forum first of all.
I am learning electronics repair, been fixing GPUs and laptops mainly until now, and I'm slowly trying to fix desktop motherboards now.
I had a few successes until now, but I messed things up with one of my recent attempts, namely a Gigabyte H410M S2 with which I burned my test cpu.
I had identified a mosfet which was burned, removed it, cheched for shorts and I didn't find any.

Hi,
i had a HP 640 G8 with a DA0X8AMB8E0 Board. I would Flash the BIOS, but i used a CH341A Programmer with 5V instead auf 3,3. Then I thought the BIOS was now defective. I have already replaced it with a new one (flashed the same BIOS).
With the new chip, the notebook has the same error. The charging port lights up once and then goes out again. The notebook does nothing more.
I iced the board with a cooling spray to possibly find a chip that gets hot or has a short circuit. Unfortunately, I didn't find any. I suspect a fuse might have blown. Does anyone...06-07-2024, 02:47 AM -

I currently trying to figure out why the laptop of my friend did not charge.
It is a Acer AN515-42 (Ryzen 5 2500U), I manage to make it works on AC and battery but no charging.
At first it was not working on Battery, I discovered that PQ201 was knocked off and replace it => work on battery precharged on another computer.
I also checked the small resistors between PQ312 and PQ201 and even if they are ugly values are OK.
My issue, when I plug the charger computer off, it drains 0.25A during few seconds with amber light on (charging) then amber light blinks...Today, 11:52 AM

Hi,
I purchased one of those units for a project and the BIOS is password protected. I was able to dump the BIOS (Insyde), it's 8MB. Tried various ways to clear up the pwd to no avail. Hoping someone can figure out how to bypass it.

Hello all,
I am repairing a Macbook A2337 and i have a problem
The Macbook is stuck in restore as someone before me tried a DFU restore and bricked the device, now i can't do a restore as AC2 throws error 1 which is related to the trackpad.
When i turn on the device i get the trackpad click for a few moments and then nothing, i tried 7 trackpads and 7 trackpad flats, i know all 7 are functioning okay, especially one as i use it for testing and DFU restore.
I inspected the whole board and everything seems fine.
Can anyone help me as i didn't fiddle with trackpad...Today, 04:26 AM
