I have one strange issue with Macbook Pro 13" A1706 (touch bar) 4 TB ports
Issue is that all 4 ports are working but on one port only one side (when i rotate connector 180 degree there is nothing (ampmeter is not turned on at all) and charger (original apple) is put to protective mode, I have to unplug USB from the power brick to enable it again.
I've tried multiple USB-C ports (one one side all ports all sides work when i reconnect it to other side both ports work but one only on one side)

My Samsung Galaxy Book suddenly stopped working and won't turn on at all. I noticed that the component in the attached photo looks burnt out. I think it's a voltage regulator, but I can't find any information about this IC online. I've searched using the code on the chip, but I haven't been able to find a replacement....Today, 03:30 AM -

by abajorHaving this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.
I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.
The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.
The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...04-27-2024, 01:37 PM -
by vanromicHello! I'm trying to resuscitate a Macbook that the local tech gave up on. I have the board view and schematic and have the main board out of the case.
Of the 4 usb-c ports, 3 cycle at 5V - they all go up to about 1.5A, then seem to switch off, back to 5V 0A, up to 1.5A, and off again. The cycle lasts a few seconds - maybe 3s.
The 4th port doesn't cycle and draws ~0.5A at 5V consistently. It seems it's the port linked to U3100 - it's on that side of the board and is the port closest to the battery and the CD3215C00 chips.
I've read that the CD3215s are...Yesterday, 06:46 AM -

by tccyo22Hey all,
I've got an ASUS laptop (Asus X409DL Rev 2.0) that had a little liquid spill on it however the majority was on the daughter board for the I/O stuff which is connected over a ribbon cable which I have disconnected for now. A small bit of liquid did however get onto what schematics and boardview show is a DC step down IC; a Realtek RT8249CQGW - markings: 2N=. There is no short on the main power rail as I have 19v with the charger plugged in however I have no other power, standby or always on rails anywhere on the board. Looking at the datasheet for this IC I want to sanity...Yesterday, 05:49 AM -

by cassiusI'm looking for ways to ensure that my desktop computer automatically powers on once the power is restored after an outage. I've heard suggestions about shorting the front panel I/O connector on the motherboard or shorting the SMPS 20/24 pin to accomplish this. However, I'm uncertain if these methods are both effective and safe.
