How do I flash bios to an Alienware M16 R1 AMD edition?
by Arc717
I am trying to downgrade my bios on my Alienware so I can undervolt & overclock my CPU, and overclock my ram. I need to get to bios 1.2.2 for this. Dell doesn't allow downgrades, and their bios file is an exe compiled in c++, so I can't decompile it easily. I am wondering if I can flash the bios manually using a usb flasher. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, where the bios chip would be. I know flashers are pretty cheap and the bios chip is 8-pin. There are two of these chips only when I open the back panel of the laptop. I'm not sure if there are any on the other side of...

No display a1278 820-3115-B
by dclass-pro
Hi guys, I have this macbook a1278 which doesn't have any image on the display, but when I turn it on I hear the chime.
I found the L9008 choke open and reset it.
When I turn on the macbook I have about 3v on pins 3 and 4 of the display so everything is ok but I still don't have the image.
On the backligt pin 21 and 22 I have 0v but the fuses are all ok.
What can I check?
I tried another display from a macbook a1278 but from the previous year and it still doesn't work.

Splice DC jack from one Alienware model to another
by kalemaroni
I waited 5 days for this to arrive only to find it's not the right model! Rather than wait for a China order, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to cut and splice/solder anywhere?

12 pins vs 10 pins, it's a for a Dell AlienWare x15 R2 (P111F003) and the one advertised on eBay was Dell Alienware 15 R1 R2 R3 AW15R1 AW15R2 DC IN Power Jack 0784VK DC30100TN00.

Also, there seem to be 4 wires soldered to the back of the jack on the X15 R2 and only 3 on the 15 R2. What would the 4th one be?

Motherboard W26361-W84-X-02 - Black Screen
by Stanley1843
Hello to everyone.
My W26361-W84-X-02 motherboard starts but don't show image (no logo screen neither bios). Because, I have two of them I desoldered the bios chip from the no working motherboard and I soldered it to the working motherboard and the motherboard works OK, so the bios firmware isn't the problem. Below I took some measurements from the no working motherboard when is power on. Also, I replaced the RAM and didn't work again (maybe some pins from the RAM slot don't have the right voltage?). I replaced and the bios battery, and I made reset on the bios and again the problem...

Samsung watch 4 - not turning ON
by YellowJacket
Greetings folks,

I wonder, if there is a section for troubleshooting also smart watches in this forum. I put it there, because it is closer to mobile devices, I suppose.
Anyway, I got this watch as not working after very long time of not using them ( not sure, how relevant is this information, it could be also any other issue, but that's what I was told ). Indeed, the battery was totally low = 0V, but even after reviving it with the help of PSU, or even if I replace battery with PSU 4.0V, there is no sign of life after pressing the power button. Pressing both buttons should...
